AIBU?

To be pissed off a "friend" tried to persuade me to take a job by outright LYING about the hours involved?

So someone I thought was a friend has spent ages trying to persuade me to work for her; selling products as part of her team. She really pushed me to see how I could get a better work/life balance by working for her and made out I could make good money working part time hours around my family

Now I have learnt that in fact to earn any kind of money working in this business you have to essentially "get rid of your kids"!!

Feel really really misled

Yep!!!
Forever Living!!
She made out you could make a fortune on very part time hours.
Turns out it is all a massive lie (see video link above); you clearly have to work your butt off to earn any money at all

Plus it became clear she wasn't trying to "help" me at all she just wanted me to "help" her as she would earn money off everything I sold !

Is Stella and Dot the same then? Have seen someone I know trying to sell that stuff! It looks very expensive for what it is...

It's a pyramid scheme basically. She is not your friend.

Stella and Dot is the jewellry one? That hasn't penetrated here yet, but I've been nobbled a couple of time by the AloeMafia. But yes, I believe to get anywhere like the incomes they are saying, you have to work stupid hours...

If she was your friend she have told you the truth and let you make an informed decision. She's used you as part of her 'team' for her own gain

Oh My fucking God they are everywhere....Its like a cult. I know very sane people who get completely sucked in by it as well. It gives me the willies. You had a lucky escape your poor mate I hope she hasn't lost too much money.
I think they are Scientologists, they are preying on vulnerable people.

Dreadful products and horrific scam organisation. Run while you can and ignore her attempts to get you back.

Dreadful fake woman too.. She frightens me in the video .. The part where she says "get rid of your kids"!

Oh my Christ. The director of a company I once worked for got involved in Arbon which is basically a pyramid scheme with cosmetics. He was forever trying to push that shite on us. And his wife was the HR department ffs!

The moment I wanted to kill him was when he said to me "I make more from Arbon a month than you take home from this job in a quarter."
To which I don't believe my "then you're aware you're grossly underpaying and undervaluing me" response was what he was expecting! Grin
Cunt.

I have a friend who tried to get me on this too, I hadn't even heard of said company or product before and while friend was explaining it I said 'oh so its a pyramid scheme'? to which said friend became very defensive saying it's NOT a pyramid scheme when its clearly a bloody pyramid scheme.

What I find quiet confusing is that either friend is completely taken in by the whole BS spouted by the company and genuinely doesn't think its a pyramid scheme (intelligent person so hard to believe) or worse thinks more of making money out of me than me as a friend.

It's all BS because if it was real and you could make a very good full time wage on part time hours and lead the wonderful lifestyle they all brag about we'd all be fucking at it wouldn't we!! Especially with Mumsnet around that shit would hardly be a secret!! lol

Have you ever seen those crazy snails with parasites controlling their brains and making them do weird a things so they'll get eaten?

It's a but like that. She's not your friend till she's been dewormed of that green mush.

That's the thing. She made this really big deal out of coming to see me and catching up and then all she wanted to do was show me stuff about FL.
It all sounded so positive but I am an Indecisive person and I like to take time to make a decision and then a luckily a friend sent me that video someone has linked to!!

Imagine if a company did that when recruiting people "oh yes, it's £x a month and just part time flexible hours" then you arrive on your first day they said "oh by the way that's all bollocks you need to work a 70 hour week and no maternity leave for you either!" Angry
