Oh god please please PLEASE tell me the twelve week growth spurt is real and can last a week?!! Swapping six hour sleeps at night for hour a half? Check. Massive mood changes from cheery and smiley to desperately unhappy? Check. Overtired all the time to point can't sleep because won't sleep? Check. Hates going out? Actually he always seems to hate coffee shops, that's normal though right?! Tell me it's going to get easier?!!!!!

You think that's bad? Mine seems to be having a growth spurt and teething. Gone from a lovely sleeper to not sleeping anywhere but on my breast. Oh and has the next set of injections next week, fantastic. My partner (who is amazing at sleeping through every.bloody. thing), doesn not know why I'm such a moody cow at the moment. Sorry, I don't know if it gets easier, can only hope haha....Confused

from Kellymom
Common times for growth spurts are during the first few days at home and around 7-10 days, 2-3 weeks, 4-6 weeks, 3 months, 4 months, 6 months and 9 months (more or less). Babies don’t read calendars, however, so your baby may do things differently.

All mine lasted at least a week - power through, sit down armed with TV remote, drinks and snacks

Give him some Calpol and give yourself some gin. It will pass. There will be other stuff but so far in my opinion nothing as bad as the newborn stage. Also don't worry too much about the 4 month regression, they don't all turn into gremlins Smile

Get yourself a copy of The Wonder Weeks (or get the app), it will help you anticipate all the fun to come!

In all seriousness, it won't last forever. Do what you need to to get through each day.

It gets easier! We had 8 weeks of hourly wakeups. It's horrid at the time but it won't be forever. It will be a very distant memory soon enough!
