Me and my friend went to pizza express amd i got dough balls, i said she can have one and she dipped it in the butter then bite, then dipped it again.
In general i will find this disgusting but to top it all off she is ill
So i said to her why would you dip your eaten dough ball in the butter when you know you are ill and she said im being rude but how? Isnt this common sense?

Aibu?

She can't be that ill if she's well enough to be out for dinner. Don't share food if you're going to get so stressy over minor things, it wouldn't bother me that much unless the person had D&V or something in which case they shouldn't be out at all.

She's a minger. Never offer her a doughball again!

CaptainCrunch Wed 20-Jan-16 18:13:54

I'm sure she didn't mean to be rude, just a bit thoughtless.

PastaPrincess Wed 20-Jan-16 18:15:08

I think your reaction is a tad OTT, but double dipping is a definite no no. I'm sure she didn't do it maliciously though.

See a Doctor immediately.

DiseasesOfTheSheep Wed 20-Jan-16 18:16:18

Nope, never acceptable. Vile habit!

You have without doubt now got the World's Worst case of Killer Cooties. Go home, paint a black cross on your door, never go out again.

ChippyMinton Wed 20-Jan-16 18:16:39

Ugh, Double-dipping. YANBU

MamaLazarou Wed 20-Jan-16 18:16:51

I don't see the problem.

Lucymatilde Wed 20-Jan-16 18:17:54

I hate doughballs

FeliciaJollygoodfellow Wed 20-Jan-16 18:19:03

I didn't even know double dipping was a thing till I was 22 blush

YANBU to be annoyed, I don't think you were rude.

It wouldn't bother me though

Adeleslostbeehive Wed 20-Jan-16 18:21:18

Call 101

HermioneJeanGranger Wed 20-Jan-16 18:22:17

Really doesn't bother me, tbh.

Katedotness1963 Wed 20-Jan-16 18:22:31

I suggest you show her the Seinfeld episode about double dipping. If George found it disgusting...and he ate an eclair out of the bin!

Adeleslostbeehive Wed 20-Jan-16 18:22:38

Lol joking. I think loads of people thinking double dipping is ok. The chances of you catching an illness from her- for the double dipping specifically- are tiny. Don't worry about it and don't be mean to your friend. You probably embarrassed her

StiickEmUp Wed 20-Jan-16 18:23:55

My dad tells me never to eat bar nuts.
He said men go to the loo, not hands washed and then rifle through the nuts bowl.

I hate double dipping.
And wee covered bar nuts.

TiredButFineODFOJ Wed 20-Jan-16 18:24:10

Yup I too was late to learn what double dipping is and what a social pariah it made me. I would have thought nothing of doing this until it was nicely pointed out to me that perhaps I could tear the bread before dipping.

dustarr73 Wed 20-Jan-16 18:24:23

Ugh hate double dipping. Some people just have no manners.

TurnOffTheTv Wed 20-Jan-16 18:25:38

I'm sure she didn't do it on purpose to piss you off, probably just a bit thoughtless. I'd be a bit annoyed if my friend called me disgusting.

GingerNutRiskIt Wed 20-Jan-16 18:26:15

Meh...
Me and my friend double dip with a dominos and the garlic sauce. We love each other enough to share cooties grin

steff13 Wed 20-Jan-16 18:26:48

It's gross, but maybe it as an accident and she got defensive because you called her it in it. I'd have just gotten my own butter after she did that.

George did the double dipping in Seinfeld.

Iliketoparrty Wed 20-Jan-16 18:27:00

Double dipping is claty. YANBU.

DimlowChips Wed 20-Jan-16 18:27:49

I seem to remember Myth Busters covering the double dip concern and they disproved that it passed on more germs than just talking over the food... I think... Will have to go and look it up now!

It is a bit grim though, like licking the food really

Bananalanacake Wed 20-Jan-16 18:27:52

I thought double dipping meant having sex with 2 people at the same time (but not together).
