Unfortunately for a number of reasons a hotel is out. I don't mind per se but feel i should at least know how long I need to endure

I would stockpile enough wine, ice cream, chocolates, ear plugs, spirits and box sets to see you through a nuclear winter.
No sense in being unprepared!
