not had enough wine this evening obviously, but aibu in thinking that asda have cocked up a bit when they describe sausages as veggie/vegan, have found quite a lot of stuff described as v/v when it clearly isn't ! some one needs a kick up the arse, oh, hang on it is probably a computer fault but don't people programme them any more - maybe i should slurp up and have another !

Eh? They described sausages as veggie/vegan? Like veggie sausages?

Could you post the link?

Were they Quorn sausages?

So email or tweet them and tell them.

You've had too much wine to make sense Grin

Show us what you mean!

Do you mean they've incorrectly labelled meat sausages?

sorry, don't know how to do a link but on the asda grocery website i put in 'vegan' which is marked 'vn' in the description and came up with a variety of so called veggie vegan listings.

The system has malfunctioned and applied the vegan and vegetarian stickers to a lot of random products.

I'm struggling to get excited about this, really - it's a glitch. You'd have to be really short on brain cells to order prawns and then complain that they actually weren't vegan.

Do you mean you typed in a search term and that's what came back? If so that's to do with the website design and not asda misrepresenting their food, lots of websites have crappy search functions.

If you mean on the entry for the prawns it claims they are vegatarian then fair enough.

I've just looked at Asda website. These are what comes up in vegetarian and vegan search, they say suitable for both.
Why do you say they're not?
groceries.asda.com/asda-webstore/landing/home.shtml?cmpid=ppc--ghs--brand-dsk--google--asda%20grocerys#/product/1000000479435

groceries.asda.com/asda-webstore/landing/home.shtml?cmpid=ppc--ghs--brand-dsk--google--asda%20grocerys#/product/910000482612

I can't see anything jumping out at me to say they're not vegan.

The Quorn sausages taste like real ones. I don't know what's in them. Maybe its quorn...

Yeah, I see, the prawns have a 'suitable for vegetarians' proudly displayed. Perhaps someone else with 'not enough wine' did the programming there Grin

Although I have to say thanks, because the Island Delight veggie pattie came up on the search; they are bloody lovely and no supermarket near me stocks them any more, it's all soggy pale cheese and onion pastries in the veggie snack department. Must seek out an Asda!

Fair enough. Clearly something went amiss there

All quorn stuff is just soya, but shaped like chicken bits, sausages, etc... MEAT-free meat...
