But it still tastes fine so im drinking it. I only realised last night when i clocked the use by date on the side. Is it safe? I'm assuming so as i'm alive and kicking. How long do you think i have until it turns?

You will know when it turns!

The milk in my fridge expires on 5th Jan and smells like the bowels of hell.

Maybe our milks got muddled up in the milk factory.

Sounds like it noble Grin

I'm half expecting to pour it in my tea at 3 oclock and find lumps. Will remind myself to sniff every time.

If it smells ok and doesn't curdle the tea then it's fine!

You would smell and taste it if it was off so I'm sure you'll be fine.

I don't think I could drink it having noticed the date though as my mind would tell me it was off and make me feel ill. I can cope with a few days over though.

I am normally like this too! I would normally bin any milk that was a day over its date but when i realised last night i'd been drinking it for over a week without realising then i guessed its fine. Think i'll relax my chucking things out rule a bit.

Is it skimmed? Think it's something to do with the cream/fat in the milk making it turn. Skimmed milk lasts longer?

I had 2 bottles bothe expired on 24/12. Had I chuck one out, but the full fat organic bottle from cows with titles and trust funds is still going strong!

This of course maybe due to the "just in case" bottle of cravendale I bought.. Had I not got a back up plan, of course the big bottle would have turned

Yeah, the milk I bought from Tesco is 2 weeks out of date and tastes and smells like the day it was bought.

Bizarre. Still drinking it though.

Off milk won't do you any harm anyway. Cheese and yoghurt are kind of like off milk, and my grandmother used to swear by using milk on the turn for good scones.

Yes its semi-skimmed.

2 weeks out of date! I wonder if they are being over cautious with use by dates?

That's interesting, Ego. It's very handy, as a two litre bottle carton can last me a few weeks.

Crazy that a 1 pint costs 45p and 4 pints cost £1!

Rude, I generally ignore best before dates now, and give food the sniff test.

Yes i'm just going to ignore and sniff in future.

I have no idea when i bought the milk but i do know it was before xmas eve, (as i havent been shopping since then) not sure how much before though, so it could have been an error in dating it.
