I'm eating biscuits and MNing whilst DD naps. On my own as DH has got tickets to the football and believes it'll take FOUR HOURS to get there so left around 11 this morning Hmm I'd actually be ok with this if he was just honest about wanting to go to pub first...
I've set myself the challenge of finishing the top tray of biscuits before DD wakes up and I have to share them with her! Grin

Eating leftovers is the best bit of Boxing Day.

Still in pyjamas, just had a fry up. Turkey stock on the stove for soup making. DP off to work in a bit. Going to have a bath, make the soup, put a wash on then slob on the sofa and watch to with a tub of celebrations. Soup for supper and early night.

I am going next door in a bit to see MIL for half an hour or so then plan on slobbing for the rest of the day Grin

My kids are in their rooms. All unusually quiet. Which probably means the girls have opened their perfume factory in their room where they aren't allowed to open it.

My dogs are even sleeping and being quiet- unusual for one dog!

DH is pottering around the garden and we had a quick visit from a friend. I'm waiting for the cries of 'I'm hungry' so we can start eating leftovers.

We went to the beach and it was heaving with people. Watched the lifeguard display in very rough seas so got to muck about with my new camera taking some shots.

Now lying in a hot bath. I smell of damp dog after an encounter with a very friendly Newfoundland that wanted to eat hug me and launched itself at me complete with dog slabbers and sand :o. He was adorable but I smell of dog now which is not as adorable. I had visions of lying on the beach underneath this huge furry bear-dog while my family just stood by pissing themselves laughing.

This is my first Boxing Day with a full blown toddler. All I want to say is 'will you please bog off to play with your lovely new toys so I can sit on the sofa and eat chocolates!'. But I don't, so instead we have been super active. However, dh will be taking ds to pils this afternoon and then my Boring Boxing Day can begin. Can't wait!

Had to pick ds up from work so had a look at the sales whilst I was there, the shops were heaving so only did Next and Matalan, that was enough for me.

Currently Watching Arthur christmas, I've been picking since about 10 this morning, right now sharing a bag of salt and vinegar sticks with the kitten. I have a sore stomach but can't stop bloody eating!!!!

Dh upstairs watching tv whilst doing work stuff, ds an dd both in thier rooms.
I came down with a cold last night, as soon as I sat down to chill out started feeling shit (ds and dd have been ill for the last few days) my hair needs washed but my head hurts to not going to bother, am contemplating going back to bed instead!!!

I had some cheeseballs. They were not very cheesy, and I remain unfulfilled.

Watching peppa pig even though ds wondered off to play in the hall about ten minutes ago. Too tired and bloated on quality street and cocktail sausages to move.

Boxing Day is the Best Day.

I did the Boxing Day 5k this am (super day for it here, very mild and breezy) and then had a long bath (I was a bit muddy).

Have hoovered and mopped; all boys gone to footy; sitting here eating my very own bag of chocolate orange pieces. May slope off with DD to visit my mum in a bit. Lunch was massive B Day sandwich (chicken, stuffing, mayo and salad); dinner is lasagne made on Chr Eve.

Annnnd relax.

I'm loving it : ) I slept till 9 this morning, which is unheard of for me lately. DH and I had turkey, ham, gingerbread stuffing and bread sauce sandwiches for breakfast. Then DH did the washing up while I lounged around watching telly with the kids. Now he's taken them to visit his family and I'm eating crisps in front of Jurassic Park with the tree lights and the fire on, while the rain patters down outside. It's bliss.

I adore christmas but it's lovely when all the pressure is over and we can just snuggle into the cosy no-man's-land between christmas day and new year's, with all the pressure off.

Up at 7.30 and into work by 8.30. There until 23.30 (2h off around 4ish), phone calls all night every 40 mins or so, approaching a full 24h with no sleep. Call shift finished in an hour - but then I'll be back in work because there's a long and difficult case to do which the team tomorrow shouldn't be involved in (they already have a full day's operating booked).

I'd take a boring Boxing Day over what I've been dealing with any time.
