Got some vouchers for dsis and Bil for Xmas for a restaurant as they like eating out.

Gave them today and they look up the food rating and it was low. Dsis was disgusted and gave them back saying "we can't even re gift that"

I'm so embarrassed sad

Did not occur to me to check first as although we had not eaten there ourselves it had been recommended to us and was local so we thought it was a nice present
I feel mortified

ConfusedInBath Wed 23-Dec-15 17:41:26

Where was it for KFC? confused
Seems rude of them.

PopcornFrenzy Wed 23-Dec-15 17:41:34

What a pair of dicks, they should be embarrassed not you OP

HackerFucker22 Wed 23-Dec-15 17:41:47

Your sister sounds like a snobby, ungrateful bitch.

KenDoddsDadsDog Wed 23-Dec-15 17:42:13

What a rude bitch ! Go yourself OP , ratings don't mean that much .

NHKX2 Wed 23-Dec-15 17:42:38

You shouldn't feel embarrassed--they should. They should have been more discreet about their findings. Your gesture was well intended and they acted like brats, IMO.

KenDoddsDadsDog Wed 23-Dec-15 17:42:42

Sorry thought it was trip advisor not food rating

gabsdot45 Wed 23-Dec-15 17:43:02

How rude of them. They should be embarrassed for being ungrateful brats. You keep the vouchers and have a meal out yourself.
Honestly I am shocked at the rudeness.

How incredibly rude of your sister! Awful, ungrateful behaviour.

Notwithoutareason Wed 23-Dec-15 17:43:19

It was for an Indian restaurant £100 voucher

I'm so embarrassed I didn't even think to check the rating

cariadlet Wed 23-Dec-15 17:43:24

You shouldn't be embarrassed. Your sister should be. That's incredibly rude. She should have checked out the restaurant when you weren't around, and if she didn't want to eat there just crossed her fingers that you didn't ask them at a later date whether she'd enjoyed her meal. The way that she treated you was extremely ungrateful and ill mannered.

Hastagwhatever Wed 23-Dec-15 17:44:00

Ungrateful much.

Mainly people get on the Internet to complain and not to praise so ratings aren't necessarily a good judgement.

Keep them for yourself and enjoy a meal out.

TheWitTank Wed 23-Dec-15 17:44:27

shock Rude bitch! Use then yourself and don't replace the gift.

cariadlet Wed 23-Dec-15 17:44:40

Just seen the update. £100! That was very generous. You should go with a couple of friends - you can get a lot for £100 at an Indian restaurant.

Notwithoutareason Wed 23-Dec-15 17:44:52

The people we know who recommended it go often and have not been ill and its local to where they live
I thought they'd like it but she has left it on our table blush

SparklesandBangs Wed 23-Dec-15 17:46:09

That's fine you and your DH can have a fantastic night out, maybe with friends and your sister can sit at home and be miserable.
Don't get her a replacement present. Not all reviews are true, they are subjective

ghnocci Wed 23-Dec-15 17:47:27

Your sister was unbelievably rude.

Also, sometimes places can get low ratings because they haven't filled out their paperwork properly. This can often be the case with foreign owners. Doesn't automatically mean it's unhygienic.

Notwithoutareason Wed 23-Dec-15 17:47:55

Thankyou I feel a bit better now. When she left I cried It made me feel awful. So embarrassed

ThroughThickAndThin01 Wed 23-Dec-15 17:48:11

How could they be so rude.

Poor you OP.

AppleJuiceFlood Wed 23-Dec-15 17:50:18

If I were you I would book a nice night out for yourself at the restaurant and tell your sis to go and play with the buses.

How rude of her!

Queenbean Wed 23-Dec-15 17:50:22

How fucking rude

Take the voucher, and your dp, and your friends who recommended it and have a bloody brilliant night out - order lobster and fancy wine and enjoy. £100 is very generous, especially as you can get so much in an India restaurant. What a cow.

iklboo Wed 23-Dec-15 17:50:26

Bloody rude. She won't have to worry about 'regifting' because you can use it. Don't get her anything else.

Sparklingbrook Wed 23-Dec-15 17:50:28

The looked up the food rating in front of you? Plus they are naughty opening gifts before Christmas Day.
