To think the more rubbish you eat, the hungrier you get?

I seem to be notice this in the last few days of snacking on mince pies etc

It's not just rubbish, it's 'proper' foods too - if you get back into overeating, your body gets used to it and you get used to eating more so your body demands more.

I've officially called it, and am currently eating chocolate. I've been good about not overeating on the run up to christmas, figured 22nd is late enough that when the overeating stops again on 29th, i'll have done limited damage!

I totally agree.

When I have the time and inclination to cook and eat really well, I am satisfied with a much smaller volume of food. I think junk food is always, ultimately, disappointing - so you want something else to make up for the lack of satisfaction.

If I had a private chef who could make me a beautiful soup or salad or piece of lean grilled fish with an interesting sauce and some perfectly steamed vegetables for every meal ... that would be my ultimate luxury. One for the lottery win.
