The voice

Strictly

Simon Cowell.

TOM jONES -GREAT SONGS, GREAT VOICE BUT A TWUNT (oops, caps lock!!)

Daniel Craig/newer james Bond

Downton

call the midwife

anything big fat gypsy/Essex/chelsera/Geordie/housewives...

Kardashian.

Jose Mourinho (footy fans think hes a god, but hes a mysoginist and bully)

David Bekham- walking tattoo parlour, throwing toys out of pram when he was playing footy, frowning and thinks that's sexy, always showing his bulge, so obviously after a knighthood as if hes the only person whos ever played footy.

I know everyones got different tatses and things, but the worshipping for all the above (and Im sure Ill think of more).....I just don't get it.

originalmavis Mon 21-Dec-15 17:02:57

Sounds about right to me.

Narp Mon 21-Dec-15 17:03:04

The only one that I like from your list is Call The Midwife

I don't dislike Adele

Kylie seems like a nice person

RudeElf Mon 21-Dec-15 17:05:07

The only one i like is david beckham. But only to look at.

GwynethPaltrowIamNot Mon 21-Dec-15 17:05:12

Bah humbug !

hiddenhome2 Mon 21-Dec-15 17:05:25

Mass entertainment never has been anything of quality. Show some people a picture of a cardboard box and they'd get excited.

SurferJet Mon 21-Dec-15 17:06:12

Agree with it all apart from Jose Mourinho. He's probably the best manager in Europe & hot hot hot. He's very likeable too, in an over the top arrogant way.

Nonidentifyingnc Mon 21-Dec-15 17:06:24

You are right about them all excpt Daniel Craig. He is a very good Bond.

AnnaMarlowe Mon 21-Dec-15 17:06:37

As it happens I don't love and adore anyone from your list.

Lots of people do admire their various talents though -why should it bother you so much?

FriendofBill Mon 21-Dec-15 17:06:40

Hear hear OP

SurferJet Mon 21-Dec-15 17:07:00

Oh, & Kylie is lovely.

BackInTheRealWorld Mon 21-Dec-15 17:08:34

What don't you 'get'?
That a lot of people have different tastes to you?
Strange post.

LagunaBubbles Mon 21-Dec-15 17:08:37

What is there to "get"? Isn't it just a case of different people liking different things however- as you said different tastes? I dont get this "snobbery" about who other people like (not saying this about you OP, just a general observation).

ElsaAintAsColdAsMe Mon 21-Dec-15 17:10:56

I agree with most of your list and would like to add Micheal Buble (sp) to it please.

Why is he on everything at this time of year?

Heatherplant Mon 21-Dec-15 17:14:55

YABU, you missed off anything with benefits or on the dole in the programme title and The Daily Mail

hmcReborn Mon 21-Dec-15 17:16:12

I'm happy with your list, and could merrily add a few more names to it

ThursdayLastWeek Mon 21-Dec-15 17:17:46

I don't really 'get' people who don't 'get' that others might like different things to them. And make a point if it hmm

BatsUpMyNightie Mon 21-Dec-15 17:18:35

I couldn't agree more with BackInTheRealWorld. Your 'absolute love and adoration for....' is over dramatic hooch and anyway - what is it to you who anyone likes or doesn't like? Very bloody odd post.

LagunaBubbles Mon 21-Dec-15 17:19:36

Me to Thursday, smacks of a very rigid inflexible mind that thinks everyone should think the same as them really.

Sparklingbrook Mon 21-Dec-15 17:20:29

Is there anything you do like? Please don't think of any more.

I don't love or adore anyone or anything on your list or indeed worship. confused

OliviaDunham Mon 21-Dec-15 17:23:32

Stopped reading your list when I got to Kylie - what's there not to "get"? She has a career over 25 years, puts on an amazing live show, seems a genuinely nice person and she kicked cancers ass!! I realise a lot of others have too, but for someone of her fame status, I feel she did things the right way, she didn't use it for free promotion or to her own personal gains like others have seemed to do.

Notimefortossers Mon 21-Dec-15 17:26:00

I agree with every single point you make.

I think Adele has got a beautiful voice and I loved her first few songs, but after that it got a bit samey.

A colleague of mine spent about 3 hours on the computer at work trying to get tickets to her concert and getting really stressy and upset about it . . . REALLY?

OnlyLovers Mon 21-Dec-15 17:28:06

Adele. (only average singer and songs) She's OK. Just OK.

Kylie (only 'talent' is wearing as little as possible) I rather love her. I'm an old fag hag, what can I say? grin

X factor- always the same yes. Shite. Nakedly commercial trash.

The voice Haven't seen

Strictly NO. Love it. Proper old-fashioned entertainment.

Simon Cowell. Vom. Horrible man

TOM jONES -GREAT SONGS, GREAT VOICE BUT A TWUNT (oops, caps lock!!) Yes, a twunt. Undeniably a legend though.

Daniel Craig/newer james Bond I like the films mainly for Ben Whishaw but wish DC would stop pouting. He's not good-looking either and I don't like his body.

Downton Excellent fun to watch with a few people, a running commentary and running rubbish jokes.

call the midwife Haven't seen

anything big fat gypsy/Essex/chelsera/Geordie/housewives... Haven't seen

Kardashian. Not sur who they are/what they do/why

Jose Mourinho (footy fans think hes a god, but hes a mysoginist and bully) Meh. Not interested in football.

David Bekham- walking tattoo parlour, throwing toys out of pram when he was playing footy, frowning and thinks that's sexy, always showing his bulge, so obviously after a knighthood as if hes the only person whos ever played footy. don't mind him. My impression is he's dim but sweet.

cardibach Mon 21-Dec-15 17:29:08

As PP have said, it's all about different tastes. However, you are wrong abut Tom Jones. No details so I don't out myself, but my family have links with him and he's actually a really sound bloke.

decisionsdecisions123 Mon 21-Dec-15 17:29:09

I like Call the Midwife, that's it from your list.
