DH moans all year about having no money and that our dds have too many toys and now he is moaning that I haven't bought them enough for Christmas. They have got everything off their lists plus more it's just they didn't ask for anything particularly big or expensive this year. He's making me feel like the Grinch. IANBU am I?

Not at all.

He has the option of going shopping, i assume?

Is be saying to him if you arent happy, go to toys r us and knock yourself out.

What did he say when you pointed out his previous bellyaching?

He has bought one thing for each of the girls and I've done the rest. He said "I'm not criticising what you've bought, but...". He says he hasn't got time to go shopping now and he doesn't know what else to get them anyway. I think it's enough and the girls will be happy they got what they wanted. We had very different upbringings - I got £10 to choose something from the Argos catalogue and he got a sofa full of the latest toys. I'm sure I enjoyed Christmas as much as him. I don't remember ever being disappointed (well apart from the time I got Indoor Sindy in the housecoat with broom instead of outdoor Sindy in the blue dress and roller skates).

Tell him to fuck off. If he was that concerned about his dds getting Christmas presents he had 12 months in which to buy them as much as he liked.

What about if you said to him
ok. What is it that you want to do? Or do you just want to bitch at me. Because i am happy to let you deal with christmas from now on.

There is a week to go. Of course he has time.
It is ridiculous that he cant think of anything else to get them but he wants them to have more more more.

Sounds very much like hes fixed on this sofaful idea from his choldhood.

You need to tell him to pack in whinging at you. You arent his mum.Christmas is not your job. If he wants to add to the pile nobody is stopping him but he needs to wind his neck in.
