AIBU?

To expect payment for taking part in mumsnet survey as agreed.

Think I'm out of options so guess this might work, a week gone Friday some of us were chosen to take part in a live survey for mumsnet about our child's mobile phone and would receive a £10 Amazon voucher.
All good ..... Except the for the imaginary voucher which we were told we would receive last week. Yet still no voucher or word from mumsnet despite a few people sending e mails enquiring about it.
I normally wouldn't be too bothered but at Christmas a lot of people budget and plan spends around vouchers and things and to leave it until now when it's too late to order in time for Christmas is poor form from mumsnet!
So I guess my aibu is .... Would you be a bit pissed off too and to hope this might generate a reply at last.

I haven't done these before - are you expecting the voucher to come from MN or from Amazon?

Bit weird that they haven't replied to any e-mails at all. I'd report your OP to flag it if I was you, they might not see this thread otherwise.

I would say that a week isn't enough time to organise these things. I changed my house insurance recently and was gifted an Amazon voucher but was told it could come anytime in the next four months.

Mumsnet I think. I ve reported the original survey where people were querying not hearing anything and I was told i would hear something last Monday but still nothing. It's ridiculous really as other people have e mailed them too with no reply

If you're getting the voucher by email I wouldn't expect you to have to wait at all, they should be able to organise that in advance I'd have thought.

By post I guess would take a bit longer

I do online shop and scan and can order those immediately it's just a code you get to redeem.
It's not the payment that's annoying really although giving up an hour and a half as agreed at a busy time of year for seemingly nothing is bad but it's the doing as directed by mumsnet at the exact time told to then they ignore their part and our e mails.

11 months on and I'm still waiting for the Davina DVD I won for taking part in the webchat on here.

I chased for 6 months and got nowhere. I've had to create a new account after my password was revealed on the list and I've given up asking if I'll ever receive the DVD now.

YANBU to want the payment but perhaps give them a little bit longer? Although not 11 months Wink

Hi there
Thanks for flagging this - we're sorry that this has slipped through a net somewhere... we do have someone looking into this.
Thanks again for letting us know

Thanks Olivia but gave already been told that someone was looking into it and would hear 2 days ago so not very hopeful

You will receive your voucher for participation via email by the end of next week. Enjoy the rest of your day!

This came from yourselves 2 weeks ago - surely you should 1st put into place the organising of the vouchers before it went ahead?

I once did a video review for a steam cleaner and was meant to get £50 of john Lewis vouchers for doing it, I didn't receive them for nearly 4 months Hmm I didn't do any more surveys for mn!

Alpaca your home insurance reward will be delayed to make sure you don't get the voucher and then cancel the policy. It's a control thing that the insurance company put in place to stop people taking the proverbial. They could have sent it to you the same/next day, they just don't want to.

Similarly, if you are waiting for a meerkat it's not being sent around Europe...

It seems there are quite a few problems with people getting their rewards by the sounds of it.

Ah! That's cunning! Yes, after four months I would have spent more money than the worth of the voucher...

How devious and clever :) it'll be a nice surprise when it comes!

Oh how weird akallabeth. I did the survey, didn't get voucher or a response to my email about voucher!

Hi - so sorry for the delay with this and the lack of response via email, our vouchers go out in batches and you should receive yours by the end of this week. They will be sent via email from a 3rd party so please look out for this.

Hmm. Maybe I should chase the university over the survey I agreed to via mumsnet. I met with a woman who said she'd interview me again at the end of summer. It was all legitimate (i thought) but now I'm feeling all 'dropped' having told her fairly cloee to the bone stuff. Really narked.

Thanks Angelie

Report
AnnMumsnet · 16/12/2015 16:26

Sighing - do chase her.

For those who have had bad experience in the past do note we have fairly recently moved to arranging vouchers for around 95% of the projects the insight team here run - as Angelie says we do send out in weekly batch orders so sometimes there's a short delay but it is easier for us to manage and sort any which fall through the net by mistake. Please do continue to take part in projects with MN and let us know about any issues Xmas Smile
