I have posted a few times about a fall out with MIL resulting in her refusing t9 see DD for nearly a year now and because of the manipulation and lies she says OH sister has sided with her. DD first birthday happened about 3 weeks ago and none of thrm sent a single text/card/pressie or any acknowledgement in any shape or form of her birthday. However nephew is two on boxing day and he means a lot to us and i hate to think of punishing a child. I want to get him a card and pressies for both virthday and christmas but a few people have warned us it will be taken as being nasty like im trying to make a dig and that im better than them.

Would you get him a present or should i leave it? I dont want to treat him like they have treated my DD, because DD no longer exists in their eyes, but i dont want to cause more nastiness when trying to give a gift.

Personally I would send the cards. It's not the DN's fault there's been a fall out, why should he suffer?

If you do what you want to do for the right reasons then who cares if they think it's a dig at them? You know it's not.

Family politics can be such a nightmare. Flowers

Well, it's not really punishing your nephew because, at 2 years old, he won't have a clue about any of this. Or who you even are, to be frank, if you've been NC for a year and he's only 2 now.

So, take that bit out of the equation and make your decision based on the rest of it - the likely fallout.
