AIBU?

Should I get the morning after pill?

Last night I got very, very merry and had unprotected sex with an ex 'friend with benefits'.

Should I risk it or go and get the pill? I still feel tipsy so I'm not thinking straight!

Posting here for traffic Xmas Smile

Depends how strongly you feel about the prospect of having an unplanned baby I guess.

Morning after pill as soon as you can get it - works best the sooner you take it.
Very bad idea to 'risk it'.

Depends whether you want a baby or not.
Why wouldn't you take it?

I'd rather pop the pill than deal with a month of aniexty worrying about missing a period.

Get it.

Yes, for all the reasons given.

Yes of course you should!
Get thee to a pharmacy. The alternative is 2 weeks of worrying, and then possibly even more stress

Agree with pp. depends on whethe you want to be pregnant. Personally I'd go get the map. Just to be sure.

Do you want a baby? Possibly with no support from the father? If yes, go for it.

If not, definitely a MAP. It's not a good risk if you don't want a baby.

Morning after pill straight away.

Dont risk it unless you want a baby.

Go and get the pill. And some condoms. And use both.

If you want a baby with him, don't take it.
If you don't want a baby then, erm, yes morning after pill from chemist today

Omg take it!!! I'm pregnant (unexpected!) with my husband and that was shock enough for me! Get yourself to boots!

Definitely don't want another baby just yet. It was very silly of me I know but I got carried away. Going to the chemist now.

Whereabout in your cycle are you?

For me, sex 5 days before and after my period were safe times.

Give the man a call and see if he fancies having a baby with you. Chat through all the practicalities and financial situation and see if you both want to go ahead.

I'm joking obviously! He's clearly as big a fool as you not to use protection. Go get the MAP asap because babies are more important than just 'risking it'.

Yep, get the pill. And an STI check. And if you throw up from being so very merry, get the pill again! Sounds like you had a good night!

Actually Polly has it right although she was talking tongue in cheek. Does "friend" want a baby? Is he willing to pay maintenance for the next 18 years? Can you afford to give up work and or pay childcare? Who gets the kids for Christmas? Holidays?

If you want a child with the man and he wants one with you then fine, take a risk. Otherwise take the MAP

Oh Polly have you never got caught up in the moment? May have been foolish but we all make silly mistakes.

It was an excellent night Junosmum Xmas Grin
