DS is six and in love with this bike. He has been told no and he understands he is not getting it and now he does not ask to buy it but every weekend he wants to go to halfords and ride it.

Its £100 and its quite heavy and the seat does not adjust so it will not last as long.

We don't do much biking. Just to the park and back and on a local bmx dirt track.

My head says no but santa my heart just wants to buy this for Christmas. He is a very good boy and it would take Christmas day to another level!

He totally believes in Santa and that's not going to last much longer.

We can sell his old bike so no landfill / storage issues.

AIBU to buy this silly bike?

I would. But I'm soft. DS loves motorbikes but I can't find any like this big enough for him, he's 9

Chchchchangeabout Sun 13-Dec-15 07:30:57

I would

Thank you hurr1cane fgrin

I realise now I am hoping for yeses.

Hope you find something lovely for your 9yr old.

This is extra reason to buy then as its now or never.

I wouldn't. I've had two halfords bikes in the past and they are heavy and not particularly good.

SummerHouse Sun 13-Dec-15 07:34:47

Thats it sealed then. I am so excited!

If you can afford it, I would. Oldest DS is a teen and has no idea what he wants for Christmas. They're only little once.

Domino777 Sun 13-Dec-15 07:35:29

Can you post an image of the bike?

Oh, he is 6. Yes absolutely buy it. Without a doubt. He has ONE childhood, and possibly only a couple of Christmas's left believing.

Make it magical OP! Not everything has to be sensible grin

sandgrown Sun 13-Dec-15 07:51:10

In the past I have bought lots of things that have not lasted long but the look on DCs faces has been priceless. If you can afford it I would buy it ! fsmile

SavoyCabbage Sun 13-Dec-15 07:52:12

He's going to get a good couple of years out of it. How big is his other bike?

I would put the other one on eBay now and try and sell it before Christmas.

SavoyCabbage Sun 13-Dec-15 07:53:07

Hooray! I'm excited for him!

SummerHouse Sun 13-Dec-15 07:53:09
