My Geekbox - right to be worried?

Ordered one of these back in Nov for DH's birthday today. Looked at different options and this one looked the best, and at the time I didn't see any problems with delivery from reviewers.

Now it says it's been dispatched days ago but welcome box is pending dispatch.

Reviews say lots of these (both boxes) not turning up - should I cancel? Or keep waiting and assume it will get here for Christmas?

Well it doesn't take much of a Google search to see that there's major problems with this service. How did you pay? I'd start a chargeback if I were you - you're almost certainly not going to get the stuff you've paid for.

People on the Christmas bargain thread got these with the welcome box and they said the contents was really poor anyway (last I saw they haven't received welcome box) some returned for refund, others cancelled to make sure they didn't get another one, all were hoping that the welcome box arrived and made it worthwhile

Based on the above, I would say you might as well cancel

DH thinks maybe in time for Christmas but agree with pp, it's not looking good Angry

Think the reviews I had read were from the time it was good.

I've not got my welcome box and they've charged for the next one despite me unsubscribing (they confirmed) and I removed my details from the site

I ordered a box way back in November nothing turned up. Ive been waiting for a refund for three weeks. Everytime i message them i get the same response that the refund has been processed this time but the money never been paid back in. Not sure where i stand legally can they take the money for something and never send it?

I ordered one. No welcome box. I cancelled and it sort of reads that you forfeit your welcome box. After reading twitter I'm not even bothered if I get it anymore. I emailed them twice and made them confirm cancellation both times but I'll have to see what happens next week!

quick look twitter seems they are ripping people off left right and center will have to try a chargeback for my box that never turned up but i paid for it

The boxes are really dreadful. Its old tat. I got an annual subscription, only one contained anything good - a metal sign that was funny but contained a swearword so wouldn't be suitable for everyone. The rest of it has been utter rubbish. An old scarf, ripped magazine, old t-shirts that are faded and far too big.

I complained over and over again but they don't care. Eventually they agreed to stop sending the boxes (the gifter renewed the subscription for another year...) but wouldn't issue a refund.

I tred to cancel within an hour of making the initial order but couldn't as my order was being dispatched.

And yet two months later there was no sign. I never got the welcome box, the first box was utter overpriced poor quality shite and despite having an email confirmation of cancellation and removing my CC details from the site, I am fully expecting to be charged.

Ok. Have emailed cancellation (couldn't do not through the form on their site as I can't cancel full order because main box showing as despatched Hmm ), have deleted my card details too but am also going to cancel my card so the bastards can't take any more.

Yep I've had same experience. Neither November box or welcome box turned up. Took ages but finally got them to say they'd give me a refund 2 days ago. No sign of it yet though

d270r0 they have been promising me a refund for three weeks everytime i get the same reply 3 -5 days. when i say well ive been waiting 21 days get the same exact email 3-5 days everytime

I have cancelled my order and card so they can't take any more money.

However, for those who are waiting, they say the boxes will be here later in Dec.

I've heard they are bad, I get pop n candy boxes sometimes (I don't work for them, just won one from FB and ordered a candy chaos one and ordered pop n candy and was happy) www.popncandy.com (International Candy and Pop Figures), www.candy-chaos.co.uk (boxes full of candy from around the world, I now know what Twinkies and Moonpies are like after years of seeing them on American TV) and they do //Www.funcollecx.co.uk (selection of geeky Funko stuff)

Yes, it looks like even when you delete the card details they still use them so I went to the bank, explained and their advice was to cancel the card completely.

me to ordered on the 15th nov a kids one and freewelcome box,they took the money really quickly.No boxes have turned up and say they have canceled my subscription and will issue a refund.Still waiting for refund,no communication even though i constantly email them Angry

I've found they can't answer more than one question.
I email daily & have started tweeting daily.
According to the website my (unwanted) December box is on its way. According to Twitter 3-5 days for a refund and my welcome box is coming in January.
My subscription is now cancelled 3 times and I've lodged a dispute with my CC.

I sent a message asking if they were trained to avoid answering questions.
Have just had a reply which actually answered my previous 3 messages although he avoided the question I actually asked Grin

Hopefully things have actually gone through this time.
