Lets face it,
this idiot is so egotistical, so mega-rich and so up his own arse, that he probably couldn't care less what we think about him.
This is why I think talks of banning him is bordering on being ridiculous.
Banning him wouldn't impact on his life one iota.

Anyway, a normal person would feel ashamed to be banned from a country.
He's not normal.
He would probably see it as a badge of honor. Hmm

I like what Boris said.

I doubt he'd want to set foot here knowing what he thinks of this country.

Agreed Boris has his measure.

Not sure how Trump will feel if he is banned from visiting all the bits of the Scottish countryside he now owns. I wonder if there are any rules on sequestering the land belonging to undesirable dangerous foreigners?

Yes ban him from his ridiculous Scottish hotel.

If he does get elected president it would be a bit awkward for state visits. Grin

Well he has quite a few investments in Scotland (TurnberryAberdeen golf hotels) so it would be a bit inconvenient. Won't happen though. We welcomed Pinochet with open arms and kiss ass the Saudi head loppers

He does occasionally set foot on these shores unfortunately. He likes to buy up chunks of Scotland and turn them into golf courses, making the local inhabitants' lives a misery in the process.

Exactly.
It's obvious he can't stand us, so wouldn't want to some here.
So what's the point of banning him? Confused

The petition did amuse me, I didn't sign it through.

Yep, he'd miss walking around his little fiefdom as the Scottish wind gently teases his hair... But agree, it would never happen. He has money and he is a reasonably large employer (albeit on a golfing development no-one wanted in the first place). We don't ban actual human rights abusers, so it's unlikely we'll ban a dickwad.

Yes, polentapies,
At the end of the day, money talks (it always has) - and he knows it.

I will tune in for the debate, they now have 100,000 signatures.

Yes a debate should be fun. And the US press coverage of it would be even better

I signed the petition and don't think for one moment that he will get banned or even to what extent it will be debated. I signed it because I consider his remarks inflammatory and inciting hatred. It was a humorous way of saying piss off Trump with your vile crap on a mass level.

no adds weight to his argument and many will believe it supports his argument even more

but we won't ban him he could become the next president and we are not going to damage that relationship

Report
polentapies · 09/12/2015 13:12

I don't think he will be President, nor that he even wants to. I think his role is to make the eventual Republican candidate look more liberal, even when the are more right wing than ever.
"Moving the Overton Window", is the expression for this, I believe

Meanwhile, he has more than enough money to indulge in good old narcissistic fun.

Exactly.
I get the feeling he's having the time of his life stiring things and laughing into his billions as we speak.

Hooray!

Even if he doesn't give a stuff, it sends out a message that we aren't very fond of his racist ideas.

Robert Gordons and Nicola Sturgeons decisions today have made me feel so proud to be Scottish. I think he will mind - a lot. I hope he does.

Of course billionaire and future President Trump doesn't care what a tiny percentage of inconsequential virtue signalling Brits think of him. Why should he?

The Muslim Council of Britain have asked him to name some of the "no-go" areas in London he has been squawking about and offered to accompany him there for a tour and lunch. I think it is worth allowing him in order that he can take up their invitation Smile.
