I heard a choir sing it. Its pretty popular and been in xmas adverts a few years back. It has words but I cant remember them. I think the notes are e... d e c..., e..... d e b....
Can anyone guess what it is?

Silent Night, Holy night, all is calm, all is bright.......?

FreiasBathtub Tue 01-Dec-15 10:42:37

I think it's Carol of the Bells as well. Is it in 3/4 time, OP?

Hygge Tue 01-Dec-15 10:43:33

Too late! It's lovely, in lots of stuff too.

Infinitynose Tue 01-Dec-15 10:46:33

Freias, you too! I'm so impressed you guessed!

Shakey15000 Tue 01-Dec-15 10:47:55

I got it from your thread title and funnily enough, it's one I asked here about two years ago grin

BertrandRussell Tue 01-Dec-15 10:49:26

Damn- I just went to play those notes and came back to tell you what it was and I was beaten to it! NOT FAIR!

Hygge Tue 01-Dec-15 10:50:56

Glad I could help, it's lovely isn't it? fsmile

Infinitynose Tue 01-Dec-15 11:03:14

It is lovely! I'm so pleased that so many managed to guess!

ThruUlikeAshortcut Tue 01-Dec-15 11:05:42

Well done - I would never have guessed that one didn't realise it was a carol blush

LaContessaDiPlump Tue 01-Dec-15 11:09:52

Yay, my first deliberately chosen Christmas song for the year grin

Infinitynose Tue 01-Dec-15 11:10:04

I don't know if it is a 'carol'. I know its not a pop song!

FlysInDreams Tue 01-Dec-15 11:15:50

I love this one:

Infinitynose Tue 01-Dec-15 11:19:46

I love that one too but didn't know the name. Can anyone recommend a good xmas CD for this year?

Raahh Tue 01-Dec-15 11:20:41

I always remember it from the Home alone soundtrack. I think as a Christmas song, it is more popular in the US than here.

DinoSnores Tue 01-Dec-15 11:26:30

I got it from the thread title too! grin

DinoSnores Tue 01-Dec-15 11:30:46

Although I have to say, how on earth did you know this?!

"I think the notes are e... d e c..., e..... d e b...."

Do people just know these things?

<realises she is in the presence of greatness!>

I took a few piano lessons as a kid! I was impressed with freias is it in 3/4 time?

Went right over my head!

Hovis2001 Tue 01-Dec-15 11:42:50

I took a few piano lessons as a kid!

I have played various instruments for years and could not in a million years guess the actual notes of a piece of music if I didn't have it in front of you. Perfect pitch, OP?! Not envious.

Infinitynose Tue 01-Dec-15 12:10:44

Oh this has warmed my cockles! I often hum to my friends to see if they can help me find the name of a song. I'm a notoriously bad hummer!

LittleMissGreen Tue 01-Dec-15 12:35:33

The choir singing above are Libera they have a Christmas CD... (Not as good as some of their non-Christmas stuff in my opinion but not bad)
