Dd3 who is nearly 3 wanted a toy from the supermarket. I said that she must wait till Christmas despite minor tantrum. I than arranged for my sister to get it. Thankfully she hasn't yet. Dh knew this. So this weekend I was away and dh took dc shopping. Dd found toy in supermarket and of course said she wanted it. I am assuming dh caved in for an easy life and got it.
I am mostly a sahm and I am refusing to cave into tantrums .Aibu to be abit pissed off as I have to most of the time deal with the tantrums.
This is not the 1st time this has happened. He brought dd2 a £100 hand held console when I was away the last time as they were arguing about having to share.
We can afford it so maybe I am being petty. Mn jury what do you think?

YANBU, assuming your DH knew about the toy.

Your child will learn to manipulate your DH to get what she wants.

And he had an argument with a toddler about sharing a console??

I don't think you are being petty. You need to be singing from the same hymn sheet- not good cop bad cop. What does your dh say? This would really frustrate me.

Your dh bryed your dd2 a console as he was fed up of arguing with her? That's crazy!

Yanbu about him buying the gift for 3yr old.

Dd1 asked for a console for Christmas. Dd2 got other gifts. Dd2 than wanted to use dd1 console which caused friction. So dh solved problem by buying dd2 a console. They were 10 and 8 .
He just gave the usual I want to treat them. I guess I just believe my presence is more valuable than presents. I guee he may overcompensate as he is at work during thd week and has hobbies at the weekend.

That seems a but unfair on dd1, unless you dh bought her other gifts to balance out?

Time to have a big chat with DH.

The only thing in dd1's favour is that she does extra curricular activities which over the years probably cost far more than the console. She isn't as into stuff as her sister.
