I'm cold, he was suppose to be here at 7. He text after I already set off to ask if we could put it back to 7:15. I got it when I parked up at 6:50. I told him I was here but sure 7:15 is fine. Now he's just rang telling me he's at a similar sounding place 15 mins away. There's no hope is there? I might as well give up now! Then again babysitter is there now.

Hurr1cane Wed 18-Nov-15 19:25:10

I'd go home, but I'm an arse.

Maybe give him 15 minutes To get to you and if he doesn't then go

Jhm9rhs Wed 18-Nov-15 19:25:24

Urgh. He could be the love of your life. That said, I'd probably go home. Or gp to the cinema, alone, and get a supervised popcorn.

Jhm9rhs Wed 18-Nov-15 19:26:27

Well that was an autocorrect disaster. Go to the cinema, supersized popcorn.

Arfarfanarf Wed 18-Nov-15 19:28:59

I dont know. I hate lateness but he does seem to be keeping you updated, telling you about 15 minutes is more than some people do. Some people think youre not lateuntil youre an hour late
And getting the place wrong is dippy but happens.
Id probably give him the 15 minutes from now then go.
Unless you think hes one of those frightful game playing people who act like shits to identify those who will take it, id give him a chance . Just the one, mind. Lateness is wrong. Wrong wrong wrong. :D

patterkiller Wed 18-Nov-15 19:29:15

I'd have no tolerance for lateness so on that basis the relationship would be doomed. I'd also go to the cinema alone.

soverytired1 Wed 18-Nov-15 19:29:34

Why are you cold? Please don't say you're waiting outside for him.

Get in wherever you're going and get a drink. Someone better might be inside!

Personally I'd dump the car and have a few drinks or go see a film or something.

On the other hand he might be having a bad day and you could just hang on a bit for him

Walkacrossthesand Wed 18-Nov-15 19:30:41

<snort> at supervised popcorn - it's not safe for just anyone to eat willy nilly, you know!
Sounds like he's really trying to get there OP, he'll probably be in a

Walkacrossthesand Wed 18-Nov-15 19:32:11

... right state when he gets there! I'd hang on for him - seems only fair.

Arfarfanarf Wed 18-Nov-15 19:32:23

I missed that bit! Surely she isnt! Yes. Go inside. Get a drink.

FedUpWithJudgementalPeople Wed 18-Nov-15 20:22:40

Supervised popcorn grin

mrsb26 Wed 18-Nov-15 20:28:02

Leave, head over to the people who are always late thread with a massive tub of Ben and Jerrys and go nuts

ihatethecold Wed 18-Nov-15 20:30:09

Well hopefully he has arrived now.

JimmyCorkhill Wed 18-Nov-15 20:30:50

This could go either way. 1) This is a sign of things to come - run away now. Or 2) This is your hilarious first date story that gets retold to the grandchildren. Which one is it?????

CreepingDogFart Wed 18-Nov-15 20:38:21

You need to share how it went!

Kitsandkids Wed 18-Nov-15 20:41:54

I was really late for a date once. I underestimated how long it would take me to get ready and walk to the place. So I think I might have been about 45 minutes late.

Fortunately he waited for me and 2 years later we got married :-).

Sprink Wed 18-Nov-15 20:43:03

Not exactly going above and beyond to see you, is he?

Expect the best for yourself, OP. Demand it. If he can't sort himself out, have a meal and a drink and read Mumsnet while you do it. Or talk with others.

Eminado Wed 18-Nov-15 20:44:42

He waited FORTY FIVE minutes for you??? You must be VERY beautiful!

Dungandbother Wed 18-Nov-15 20:44:47

Marking place for reference for future date disasters that may befall me!

Eminado Wed 18-Nov-15 20:44:53

Thats to Kits

timelytess Wed 18-Nov-15 20:45:37

get a supervised popcorn
Yes. I want one of these. And a monitored choc-ice.

celtictoast Wed 18-Nov-15 20:47:50

Let us know what happens OP!

LittleFeileFooFoo Wed 18-Nov-15 20:48:35

My dog supervises all popcorn consumption in our home. It can be a bit slobbery, but the floor shines!

Hiddlesnake Wed 18-Nov-15 20:48:40

Shove up a bit on the nosy bench, will you? <passes round tin of biscuits>

Lynnm63 Wed 18-Nov-15 20:49:47

DH and I stood each other up twice first time we arranged to meet at a department store cafe. What we didn't realise is there were two a basement cafe and a posh one on the fourth floor. He was in the basement I was in the posh one. Second arranged to meet outside a local landmark he was there at 7 I was there at 8. Third time lucky and we've been married over 20 years the kids think the stories are hilarious.
