WWYD? We have a pre planned trip to Disneyland Paris Saturday?

More of a WWYD Grin

Planned trip with DP, DD, DS, and DParents. Flying and staying in one of the Disney hotels, won't be leaving the resort except for journeys from and to the airport.

We've never been before, it's a massive treat for the DC and DPs.

Will lose our money if we don't go. But can't really put a price on our families lives.

Torn between, it's done now so security will be even higher so it will be fine, and not a chance am I risking it.

WWYD?

Assuming everything you need is open, I would go.

I would go. I can't see there being another attack in the same city so soon afterwards as everywhere in Paris is on high alert.

If it was me I would still be going. The security will be extremely tight at the moment and awful things could happen anywhere. I shouldn't think Paris - despite the horrendous events of Friday - is any more dangerous than any other city.

I was a kid in the 70s and a teenager in the 80s so remember IRA bombings of the mainland. You knew at the back of your mind that something terrible could happen, but just got on with life. I think that's what we need to do in the face of more recent atrocities.

I would go.

There is a reason that the area that was targeted, was targeted. Low security, lots of ethic mix.

Security somewhere like Disneyland is always going to be higher so I would think that the risk would be very low.

Enjoy Smile

Go to Disneyland Paris. Atrocities can happen anywhere at any time, enjoy your trip, show bit of solidarity with the French.

I wouldn't hesitate to go but no one can make the decision for you and your family.

For instance, we went in to London for the Lord Mayors Show yesterday, my mil was having kittens but I won't let fear stop me doing things, it's important to me that I carry on as normal.

As an aside I think that the security at DLP is normally very high (metal detectors and the like) when it reopens on Tuesday I'm certain it will be under the highest security possible.

Go, enjoy your holiday.

Go of course. Security will be on super high alert now - it is probably the safest time to go.
If you don't go the terrorists have won, you lose your money, the kids lose out on a dream break. Go.

The Disneyland Paris theme park is closed for the time being. It is due to reopen on Wednesday 18 but keep checking.

Going against the grain here but I wouldn't go. I do understand that security would be sky high and it could happen anywhere anytime etc but I just wouldn't be able to relax at the moment. I think the whole atmosphere would be rather scary and I'd feel on edge.

I'm on a Disney Facebook group and there are loads of people there at the moment, and still more going this week and not cancelling. Security is always very high in Disney anyway, and they have extra at the minute.

We went last year and there were armed soldiers walking around the outside bit and loads around the railway station. Inside the park there were plenty of more discreet security.

Go!

It's amazing!

go, if it is open which hopefully it will be. Safest time to go!

We went in February 2014 and there were armed police patrolling the park and very thorough bag checks. Go, enjoy and forget about the outside world for for a few days.

If everything is open then I'd definitely be going.

DSis and I were supposed to be flying out tomorrow then coming home on Thursday. The only reason we're not now going is that the park doesn't open until Wednesday so it's not really worth what we've paid to only get the one day in the park.

I would go. We were in St Lucia over 9/11 and due to fly to WDW the following week. We still went and security was pretty tight. The staff were overwhelmingly happy to see us because so many Americans had cancelled (or been forced to due to the closure of the airspace). I'd imagine DLP will be much the same.

I would still go. They have had security going into the parks for years.

I'd be anxious too but I agree with others that it'll have lots of security and be as safe as staying here.

This is really tricky as I think we can all advise but unless we are in your position we can't truly know what we would do. I think I'd go due to the heightened security. BUT if my family member said THEY would go, I'd be worried the entire time they were there and have to fight myself not to keep texting to gauge if they were OK. So quite hypocritical of me really.

Go but expect that family left at home will fret and just touch base with them.

I would definitely go.

To add, I would just feel too anxious and wouldn't really enjoy it Sad

We flew long haul just after 7/11 sadly it's probably the safest time to travel after a terrorist attack
Go

I'd definitely go. This is about the safest time you could possible ever go. And if you've ever been before, the chances of anyone smuggling weapons into the park at the best of times is slim to none so right now, I'd say it's impossible.

Any other reaction is anxiety, not sense.

Report

Without a doubt you should go, if it is open.

You will all be fine and have a lovely time.
