I hate them at the best of times, think they should only be for licensed events not back gardens, but they've been going off all evening and I'm about ready to explode! It's Remembrance Sunday FFS there could not be a worse time to do it!!

YANBU. Always when I'm trying to settle the kids in bed too. Like it isn't dark enough at about 5pm to do them Angry

It's also the closest weekend to Diwali. I absolutely understand your objections but I doubt it's on purpose to denigrate the sacrifice.

Totally agree, so disrespectful.

Poor dog is having yet another nervous breakdown. Sad

Hate, hate the trend of letting them off night after night.

I think that perhaps people had stuff to do last night so are letting off their fireworks off tonight. They haven't done it to be disrespectful.

Personally, dd had a bday party to go to last night so if I was the kind of person who does back garden fireworks, perhaps I would have thought, oh dd out last night, lets do them the next night?

I am sure disrespect isn't intentional.

We're left with a box full of fireworks which we've not been able to let off due to the bad weather so my 3dc still haven't had a fireworks night. Any other night ok but Rememberence Sunday? Shameful...

They were 50% off in the shops today. Started going off at 6.30. Definitely should be regulated. Bah humbug (terrified dog and child for days!)

Agree with OP. Fireworks have been going off since Hallow'een - and tonight of all nights is totally disrespectful, not to mention the awful effect the noise has on animals and people.

There's nothing disrespectful about letting off fireworks on Remembrance Sunday. At all.

Nope, YANBU. Its pissing me right off now too. There have been two weekend nights when people could of had their bonfire parties now, i seriously wish people would piss of and put the fireworks away now.

I went to an organised display tonight, a lot of it was red white and blue. It was done to the dam busters and other songs related to ww2.

I do think home fireworks should be banned, but I don't think there's anything wrong with fireworks tonight.

My cat has somehow got himself under the sofa to hide and won't come out. I'm SO over pissing fireworks.

Our NDN has been letting off display grade fireworks in his back garden Angry. He does this every single bloody year. The dog was pootling around in the kitchen when he started. She was so scared she pissed on the floor. I'm thinking of posting the dog piss soaked kitchen roll through his letterbox. DP is being the calm voice of reason.

Ps. I do, however, agree home fireworks should be phased out due to issues with noise, emergency services and general danger.

For some bizarre reason our village primary school has decided to have their annual firework party tonight. Not only is it disrespectful on Remembrance Sunday, but it's a school day tomorrow fgs.

although I have a terrified dog who's put the anchors on every night for the last week when I've tried to take him out, I reckon live and let live

(I have to-I live in London where as a rule of thumb they go off from about halloween to new year- if I got upset by it I'dve gone bananas many, many years ago)
