to go on holiday in August when we dont technically have to (4yo)

Girls will be 2and 4next summer. Dd1 has just started preschool and I have just become a sahm. Four days into our first "school holiday" and I am thinking that we should go on holiday in August next year, even though we wouldn't be penalised if we went in term time, basically to break up the massive break!

Obviously it will be hotter and busier. But the weather should be better, and we can afford it. I wouldn't want to take her out of the beginning of reception, even if it is before she turns five so it would have to be early summer otherwise.

Any opinions? Am I mad to enter the school holiday madness a year early just to break up the boredom of the summer holidays?!

I meant to say of course it will be much more expensive, but we can afford it.

If you can afford it then go for it!

Unless you're going to a less popular / more remote destination you'll probably be very aware of too many people, which I find (found) too much with toddlers.
But it's up to you!

We would probably rent a villa somewhere rural so shouldn't be too bothered by busy crowds except on day trips.

Why not go on early July or the end of June?

I am just thinking it is a bit of a waste to take her out in the last term when a few weeks later I will need to entertain her for six weeks straight.

I also dont want to annoy the school as the preschool is part of the primary. Even though it isn't against the rules yet per se.
