To think that, regardless of the law, many employers are guilty of sexual discrimination?

I have been working for over 20 years for a variety of different employers and have yet to come across one yet that doesn't discriminate against women.

My current employer acts as though it's the 1950s. Our team consists of 8 women and 2 men. Surprise surprise the men get away with anything and everything yet us women are pulled up on every little thing. If the men make errors it is laughed off. The men are paid a higher commission rate, and get given easier leads so that they earn more commission. It's not uncommon for the men to be sitting chatting in the (male) manager's office and for one of us women to be called in and asked to make tea and coffee for them all!

My previous employer was very similar; I was treated less favourably as I was the only woman in the workplace, and made to do "women's" jobs, even cleaning!

The law doesn't really seem to mean a lot when employers just do as they wish anyway!

They do as they wish if no one challenges them.
My employer certainly doesn't treat women like that.

I challenged my old employer and was told if I didn't like it to fuck off and work elsewhere...

I think my current boss would take a similar attitude tbh.

Then you and all the other second-class staff try your damnedest to find another job, so the privileged few can do all the work.

High turnover in a company, unsurprisingly, causes problems for those left behind!
