I know you can't judge a book by its title but I'm over this convention. It's become some kind of cultural meme now.

Did you namechange to post this? Grin

Haha no actually!
That's from 'Men never make passes at girls who wear glasses!' - I do wear glasses and I have DCs so it's ironic, plus I hate that phrase and wanted to 'own' it Wink

And I'm not a book Wink

Yes I was going to say The (self consciously wacky job title) 's (close female relative). Enough now.

Just found another one

Quite right too.

I avoid any books with awkwardly cutsie titles like The Particular Whimsy of the Little Missenden Lemon Meringue Pie Society.

On a separate but related issue can celeb chefs stop pretend laughing at someone the right hand corner of the room! I know there's no one there.

And no more pictures of garden gates either. Always with the bloody garden gates, leading into the overgrown garden, belonging to the neglected old pile and its....................long hidden secrets.

None of you are being unreasonable.

Grin at the celebrity chefs pretend laughing.

I want to make some sort of shit book title generator - one 'The Girl Who', one annoying quirky twee one, and one for misery lit. Or maybe even combine the three - 'The Girl Who Perambulated Around The Zoo In Zagreb Playing The Lute Before Being Sold For A Tube Of Smarties.'

Recipes from my mother for my daughter

God I can't stand Lisa Faulkner. I have no reason to, she just seems so unbearably smug.

There is a misery lit titles thread in classics somewhere. My contribution was 'I only love you on Tuesday's'

The Girl with the Crumbled Prawn Cracker in her Cleavage.

No idea why that popped into my head

Oh yes we need a 'Girl novel' name generator. My coding skills aren't up to it - anyone?

The Girl Who Perambulated Around The Zoo In Zagreb Playing The Lute Before Being Sold For A Tube Of Smarties I would read that, just because of the word perambulated, which I love.

And I don't know who this Faulkner woman is, but she has one of those faces which makes me think I would have to walk away quite quickly after meeting her. And I LOVE cookery books! And I don't want hers, but I may look it up on amazon, just to scoff at it, I hope there are no good recipes, I can't buy it now, just on the strength of the picture.
