I am not in work at the moment, I have been signed of work sick, it is only my 3rd day off yet I have had 3 days off. I have spoken to HR and just feel like I sm being hounded is it just not enough to want some rest and peace from the place.

It depends. Some places have a policy which states that you must call in each day to update on your illness.

If that's the case you should answer. They aren't ringing for fun

We don't have that policy. I am being rang to ask were things are.

Then turn the phone off, pull it out if the wall or get a small person to answer it and tell them you're in bed etc

In that case provided they're updated about your illness don't answer it.

Get well soon.

If you have left things in a guddle and they really need them YABU.

If you have left everything where they should be, YANBU.

If you have "Left" things in a guddle and they really need them YABU.
I don't think the op got sick on purpose. The use of the word "left" is a bit of closed minded description. It's not like she downed tools to go on shopping spree or to go to the pub. She was/is sick.

If you are in sick leave I don't think they are meant to contact you. We were told that in no uncertain terms could we call someone on sick leave, that they were sick and it's was wrong to do so. Check your work policy.

Is it HR hounded or just randoms at work?

I honestly did not think they could contact you over work related matters but could to see how you are.
May be worth a quick phone call to ACAS to find out. I have used them
a few times with my old job. That way you will know exactly what they can and can't do

If you've been signed off then there's no reason for them to
Phone you every day. Even if things have been left in a bit of a mess, from previous experience there is no way I'd contact a colleague. If you're off then you're off

When I was signed my boss said they couldn't contact me. He called the day before I was due back and that was it.

Sorry, One I'm a bit confused. You've been signed off as too ill to work by your GP, but you are still being contacted by your works HR every day?

I posted this in anger after I was trying to sleep on Friday but was woken by someone from work. But basically yes I have been signed off from work For 2 weeks.

It is a random, we have a clear desk policy and my desk is clear each night I had to prices of work outstanding, but was only outstanding waiting for my boss to sign off, which when I rang up I told him this. The person ringing me is someone who just ask were / how / when all the time. It stresses me out and I have decided to just ignore the phone calls as if they opened their eyes looked around the information they are looking for is right in front of them.

So now that I am awake, I actully don't think Ibu. If it starts again tomorrow I am going to email my boss.

Thanks for your reply's though.

This is a tricky one. Other people are having to deal with your work while you are off and there may be some things that only you know that they need to ask you. If your illness is physical only, you can switch off/unplug phone while you are sleeping, but it would be really helpful to phone back later and give them information that they need.

However, if your illness is stress related, any contact with work is hindering your recovery, so it is OK to say leave me alone.

I do see your point, but the information they are asking for is available to everyone.

its abit like were are the cups. In the cupboard marked cups, if you understand what I mean.

Turn off your phone OP. If you are signed off sick, the only time they should call is on the last day to check you are okay to come back. Otherwise turn off or screen calls.

Flowers Hope you feel better soon
