AIBU?

To be feeling really quite cross?

I left a (school) job in July. A few weeks before I left I was asked to organise some training for this week, mostly for LSAs and MDAs, which I did.

The training was a full day and many of the trainees would need to do extra hours.

This week the training has been cancelled because some of the staff didn't know about it and couldn't make it. I am being blamed, as apparently I didn't tell anyone.

I know I attached letters with all the details to their June payslips and asked them to let me know if there were any issues re attendance. 7/12 attendees did know, so they found out somehow.

In the scheme of things, it doesn't matter, I was glad to leave and my new job seems great so far, but in a small community, you bump into the same people in schools. I may well end up applying for a job with one or more of these people again. I was careful not to burn bridges before I left. I am cross that my reputation is being damaged.

I know I did a good job at that school and that it's easy for people to blame the person who's not there but I wonder what else will be my fault over the coming weeks.

You said it yourself in the last sentence. It's unfair but as you've left expect to be the scapegoat for a couple of things.
