AIBU?

To be uncomfortable about this local response to the Syrian refugee crisis.

A very high profile business in my local area has put the following sign in their window.
'Refugees welcome here, British homeless need not apply'.
For the record, if I had a spare room, I would welcome a refugee family. But equally, I would help a local homeless person/family if I could.
How would you'll about this?

Should read 'how would you 'feel' about about this?

I would take that as a joke too.

That's got to be a poor attempt at a joke. Pointing out that "get all the help you need, if you're a refugee. If you're British and homeless though, jog on as you're not worthy enough."
That's the way I read it anyway.

Ooh what's the context? Type of shop, what 'welcome' means in practical terms...

There must be a reason beyond random bigotry surely?

Take a photo & put it on FB & Twitter.
They'll be out of business by Christmas.
