Mil thinks it is. However is contains three veg (potato, leek and onion) and dairy for calcium.

That surely.means it isn't junk right? It has a lot of good stuff.

And wine is just grapes. HTH.

It's junk. Potato is a starch. Pastry is a starch. Lots of fat, lots of carbs. Junk.

If you make it at home, then it might not be junk.

If you buy it from a petrol station, it probably would be.

Homemade or Greggs? smile

RJnomaaaaaargh Tue 08-Sep-15 20:49:11

I want one now.

BlameItOnTheBogey Tue 08-Sep-15 20:49:25

and starburst have fruit in them.

TheCatsMother99 Tue 08-Sep-15 20:49:40

It's not junk but it's not great.

SrAssumpta Tue 08-Sep-15 20:50:56

I'd say it's definitely junk, I want one though!

BikeRunSki Tue 08-Sep-15 20:50:59

It's double carbs and a lot of fat though. And salty. Even homemade food can be junk.

Ketchup is so one of my 5 a day, put it with a cheese and onion pasty and it's almost 5 a day.

sooperdooper Tue 08-Sep-15 20:51:16

It's definitely not health food! Homemade or from a quality bakery slightly better but yeah generally I'd class a pasty as junk

BrockAuLit Tue 08-Sep-15 20:51:33

It doesn't have "a lot" of good stuff in it.

It has some good stuff.

Which is unfortunately counterbalanced by the fat content of the cheese and butter.

Nothing wrong with carbs, not good to double up carb.

I wouldn't call it junk food. But I would certainly be taking it easy for the remaining meal of the day.

alicemalice Tue 08-Sep-15 20:51:57

I do like a cheese and onion pasty.

poocatcherchampion Tue 08-Sep-15 20:52:05

JawannaDrink Tue 08-Sep-15 20:52:16

Its food. Eat it, be glad you can, and have vegetables tomorrow. Who gives a fuck? Its just FOOD.

SinglePringle Tue 08-Sep-15 20:52:44

Another vote for junk. Not something I'd willingly eat.

Moregravyplease Tue 08-Sep-15 20:57:53

I like them but don't pretend it's anything but junk food.

JustMeOverHere Tue 08-Sep-15 20:59:23

I need one now. I'm not hungry even but I could scoff a pasty or sausage roll right now.

TurnOffTheTv Tue 08-Sep-15 21:01:51

Of course it's junk! Would you class a pizza as junk? After all it's only dough, tomatoes and cheese?

UngratefulMoo Tue 08-Sep-15 21:02:40

Well, it's definitely not healthy.... but probably better for you than bubble gum...

TheMotherOfHellbeasts Tue 08-Sep-15 21:03:25

I wouldn't have called it junk food, not if it's homemade, but we're not in the UK and where we are everyone is a lot more relaxed about food, with an everything in moderation but don't stress sort of attitude.

MaddyinaPaddy Tue 08-Sep-15 21:03:43

No I would not class a pizza as junk food at all. It is the pastry which makes a C&O pasty a no no

Hellochicken Tue 08-Sep-15 21:04:19

"Junk" or occasional food. I love them.

Kampeki Tue 08-Sep-15 21:05:03

Well, it's probably very yummy, but if it's a typical cheese & onion pasty, then I'm afraid it is junk! Sorry!
