AIBU?

To tell this woman to sod off (FB related, sorry!!)

I hardly ever moan on FB and would never air my dirty laundry on there; everything is just kept upbeat and superficial, if that makes sense.

By contrast one woman on my FB friends does nothing but moan constantly; between 4 and 10 moany statuses today. She is a real spoilt princessy-type who moans if someone on the street breathes in the wrong direction.

Anyway, this morning on my FB I posted a very lighthearted moan. This woman had the cheek to comment "Is this all you have to worry about?? Life is too short to moan and be negative".

I replied saying we are all free to put what we want on our FB and that she herself moans on FB but my reply has gone ignored by her.

WIBU to defriend her and not bother with her again?

Defriend and block. As you should have done ages ago! (But you know that bit anyway Grin)

Ugh just get rid of her, no time for people like that clogging up a news feed.

Ha ha - I'd probably have just posted the exact same thing on the last 20 of her moaney posts and on 21 just gone...'life is too shor - oh never mind. Bye' and bin her.

Just delete her.
I have a very low tolerance for annoying people on Facebook. I feel much happier since introducing a one strike rule for vaguebookers.

It might have been pithier to reply "oh the irony".

Remove - why keep her on there if all she does is annoy you!

Definitely go through all her moaning posts and put the same "life too short comment "Grin

De friend and ignore.

I think you should do what Doreen suggests and then unfollow her Grin

Don't defriend just yet, it might be amusing to see how she responds!

Defriend, that's so cheeky!

defriend and block. The joys on being online - easy to do!

I'm surprised you kept her so long. De friend or hide anyone you find annoying (unless there is some entertainment value in their cringey annoyingness).

I had someone put passive aggressive posts on about my posts. I had surgery and several people had wished me well and rather than update them individually post op I put a status on. The status said 'op went well just recovering now. Hope to be 100% again soon'. It was a minor op and her PA post of 'just had to unfollow one pain in the arse....I don't care!' Then said to someone I was acting like I had open heart surgery. So I commented that she had working thumbs and can scroll past and she is not Facebook police. Then blocked and defriended her.

Dosamund we have an FB friend in common - I saw that on my news feed this morning. She's still my FB friend but I rarely look at her page.

I have a Sis who is surreptitiously defining her long term relationship with those annoying sayings.

Such as

Only trust those who keep our hearts safe
Your friends love you. Forget the rest
You are stronger than those who try to break you

And xxxx is 'feeling defeated'. 'Feeling loved'. 'Feeling emotionional'

And so on, complete with annoying pictures. I totally agree with you OP.

Angry

I never 'get' all this facebook angst. Just hide your wall from her in future so she doesn't get to see any updates!
As for snakes - that's also what the hide button is for, but in reverse. Hide them and you'll be blissfully unaware of all their ramblings and annoying sayings!

Would posting this be inappropriate?

I don't get this FB angst either. Hide or defriend. Not difficult. My FB is actually quite precious to me (lots of people on there from long ago or far away that I wouldn't actually be in touch with if it wasn't for FB) and I would not want it 'contaminated' by negativity and unpleasantness.
