AIBU?

To want my bed delivered.

My dh offered to buy me a new bed for our anniversary. After scouring the internet I found one I fell in love with. I spent another few days trying to find the best price including delivery as I live on the Isle of Wight.
Finally found it at a good price with free delivery and ordered it last night.
This morning I have a message from the seller to say he won't deliver to offshore Islands. Here is his original listing, the IOW is in zone A. cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItemVersion&item=321828650841&view=all&tid=1483899700011 I can't find any mention of non delivery to the Island.
Here is revised listing(changed this morning) www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Florence-Ornate-5ft-King-Size-Antique-Brass-Finished-Metal-Bed-By-Harmony-/321828650841?hash=item4aee7b7f59 The Isle of Wight has disappeared!
AIBU to want my bed?

Presumably the seller didn't realise that the IOW was included in their deliver zones and once they did they explained to you and amended their listing. I can't really see what else they can do and I'm guessing this is quite a common problem given your location. Would you be able to collect from a nearby location on the mainland or pay extra to have it delivered all the way to you?

Unfortunately, if the original listing contained a genuine mistake, there's not much you can do in the way of forcing the seller's hand, although I appreciate it's annoying to think you've found what you want only to learn that it wasn't.

It's the cost of business vehicles to cross on the ferry. A lot more than a non business user.

Any chance you can collect from a friend or relative on the mainland?

He should really honour the sale. It's not your fault he cocked up and didn't check things out like this before offering free postage.

Will he compromise?

If not, cancel the sale. It's not what you ordered.

Well he cancelled the sale with no more communication with me.Sad To my mind he messed up and could have at least tried to compromise with me for his mistake. I wish I could leave feedback.

You can leave feedback on a cancelled transaction.

Could you not get back in touch and see if there is room for negotiation? If he sent you a message and acknowledged his mistake, then he might be open to some sort of compromise.
