a B road in the country you should stick to driving in towns and on motorways?

I live in an area with lots of narrow country roads with no road markings. The area attracts quite a lot of tourists, many of whom seem to have no idea how to drive in the country. Had three near misses this weekend with complete idiots who seemed to be oblivious to the fact that you really need to position your car well over to the verge when passing on country roads. On one occasion I nearly ended up in a ditch after some twat In a camper van drove down the middle of the road towards me.

DH was driving a tractor this week and had a car with a holidaying family follow him for half a mile beeping horn and flashing lights becuase they couldn't get past!

I know people who aren't lucky enough to live in the countryside like to get out and get some fresh air occasionally, but WIBU to suggest they travel by train and then go for a few walks rather than endangering their own and others lives?

I know what you mean.
Where I live there are a lot of small roads and the number of nits you get driving in the middle is ridiculous.

Then they give you a dirty look for daring to be on the road!

And don't get me started on those who take a blind bend wide. There are a few corners that are so notorious for it that I always tuck myself right in.
It's saved my skin more times than I can count!

We camp around Wales, from Liverpool and I totally agree with you.

It wouldn't be so bad if drivers would take direction, we seen some right arsehole behaviour, with back logs of cars, because they refuse to position themselves were they should be, or won't give way etc.

There was an unbelievable incident, on a level crossing were we had to physically threaten the driver to move. We had dogs and children in the back of an estate and a trailer, but he just kept giving way, even though a train was showing to be due.

I think I will drive our old land rover next weekend, then I can be the one refusing to move over! It's not very comfortable and a bit slow but quite tank like and fairly indestructible.

It's not just country roads! There's so many drivers now using mobiles whilst driving and at the same time drifting over the white line onto the other side, it's bloody frightening!! Followed one today, he was over the white line going round corners I kept expecting an accident!

some country roads which are not quite single track and lack the requisite white lines (for those hard of learning the 'keep to the left' mantra) and frequently I meet some idiot in a 4x4 hogging the middle of a road which is passable for 2 normal size cars with care and who seems to think I should climb the hedge to get out of his/her way
and don't get me started on those who pass a passing place on a single track road expecting me to reverse 100 yards or just disappear so they can continue on their way at NSL (which is insane on these sort of roads)
