had one of those baby on board signs saying "prince Joshua on board". My dad said "bet he's a little fucker". Have people lost the plot or what? grin

HappenstanceMarmite Sat 08-Aug-15 10:16:58

I plan to make stickers for people to slap over these puerile announcements. My stickers will read: "So. Fucking. What?"

I like the sound of your dad Flowers!!

Only1scoop Sat 08-Aug-15 11:00:13

Flowers Dad sounds on my wavelength

Fluffyears Sat 08-Aug-15 11:04:10

I remember the myth that they helped emergency services in the event of an accident to be aware there may be a child in the car. Yeah that's great because obviously they will not check the full vehicle for occupants!

scarletforya Sat 08-Aug-15 11:05:24

God, people have no shame. Poor kid.

FadedRed Sat 08-Aug-15 11:15:09

Marmite why stop at one, I think you have the idea for a brilliant business there. Maybe it should become compulsory for a badge to describe the occupants so we can all know what type of driving/ courtesy (or lack of it) to expect from the car in front? E.g:
Miserable old git wearing a flat cap
STB divorced couple having an argument
New lovey-dovey's not paying due care and attention to anything other than themselves
Harassed mother with 4 squabbling DC's on the school run and very late
Out of town driver who has absolutely no idea where they are
Woman with worst PMT ever and will take no shit from anyone this morning, thank you very much!
Naice lady in unfamiliar courtesy car
(Please feel free to add your own to the list)

YUDOTHIS Sat 08-Aug-15 11:38:55

FadedRed. I need one for myself.
"20 year old woman on a caffeine high doing 55mph while playing referee to two DC's"....

Salmotrutta Sat 08-Aug-15 11:41:57

What about:-

Daft Dog On Board
Precious Puss In Transit
My Car is A Shit Tip
Sulking Teens On Board

SirSpamalot Sat 08-Aug-15 11:48:27

I want one of these...

Salmotrutta Sat 08-Aug-15 11:53:15

grin - I want one of those too!

HappenstanceMarmite Sat 08-Aug-15 11:57:48

"Menopausal woman trialling new HRT on board"

PigeonPie Sat 08-Aug-15 12:07:39

My father wanted one to take the p out of the 'show dogs in transit' ones - he wanted 'Show Bees in Transit', but never got around to making it up!

ProcrastinatorGeneral Sat 08-Aug-15 12:47:16

'Back off you tailgating bastard' was a suggestion from a friend who drives.

penisland Sat 08-Aug-15 13:54:35

Yep, you just know the driver is an utter fuckwit.

ScoutRifle Sat 08-Aug-15 14:30:13

Funny thing is every time I'm behind a car with one of those stupid signs they are driving like a cunt anyway. Impatient, swerving all over the place and speeding for no reason. I back off just in case the crazy bitch slams on her brakes whilst shouting at the kids and isn't paying any attention to the road in front or behind. grin

rembrandtsrockchick Sat 08-Aug-15 15:36:31

"Irritating passenger seat driver on board"

<Looks sideways at DH>.

WhyCantIuseTheNameIWant Sat 08-Aug-15 15:46:19

And you park next to them. You say "hi Joshua" and he thinks you must know him or his parents, as you used his name.
You obviously can't be a stranger, so it must be safe to get into your car...

WhyCantIuseTheNameIWant Sat 08-Aug-15 15:49:54

To add to your list
Teenager navigating and moaning because he wasn't ready, now he will be late
Driving slowly so the toddler stays asleep
Frustrated mum who left in plenty of time, only to be stuck doing 13 mph behind a dozy old fart on a narrow road
Driving boringly to get the toddler to fall asleep

Where can I get some "so what?" Stickers now?

TheCatsMother99 Sat 08-Aug-15 15:55:43

I absolutely hate those signs, apart from the baby on board signs (when there is a baby on board which emergency services might need to know about in the event of an accident).

I saw a 'bump on board' sign the other day. That one really got me.

VixxFace Sat 08-Aug-15 15:57:25

I saw a similar sign saying prince something on board and I thought he can't be that much of a prince, as your driving a clapped out banger.

HappenstanceMarmite Sat 08-Aug-15 16:10:47

when there is a baby on board which emergency services might need to know about in the event of an accident

Despite the fact that this is a myth, do you think that anyone using one of those odious signs actually remove it when the baby is NOT on board? Otherwise (if your theory is correct) then the emergency services will be put at further risk trying to hunt down the absent child from the wreckage.
