AIBU?

To park where the hell I want?

I have NC for this.

Had to go into my local town early this morning. There are no free formal car parks close to where I wanted to go (nearest was a mile/mile half away) so I parked on a side street close to my exBs- a) because its free and b) because it was close to where I want to be

I got there really early to avoid bumping into my exB, but not early enough because as I was leaving the car- I bumped into him. And now ive been accused of stalking him

AIBU to think he doesnt own the fucking road??

Is this the first time you've parked on his street? How long ago did you split up?

Of course you can park wherever you like.

However, with all the streets available, he is also going to wonder why you chose the one at his place.

I guess it depends how often you've contacted him/ bumped into him.
If this is the first time he's set eyes on you since the split, he's being daft.
If there has been a lot of accidental meetings, he could reasonably wonder why.
Unless it's a tiny town.

Yanbu. As long as you are parked legally then it's fine! Just because you are no longer together it doesn't mean you have to avoid him for the rest of your life

Of course you can park where you like but why would you want to park on his street?

There is another road I can park on- but if you get there too early its full of residents who have parked, and too late and the commuters have knicked your speck and then you have to park right at the top of the road which is a good 10/15 minute walk to the top of town im a lazy fecker sorry. Most of the other side roads are double yellow lines or residents parking only.

Ive always parked there and he knows it.

He doesnt actually live on the road btw- just sometimes walks that way with his dog to get to the park.

Oh and the weird thing is- we have been texting occasionally as friends (weve agreed to get on as we have a lot of mutual friends and hes close with my brother). I was worried it was going to happen

Maybe next time I should just fork out £1.20 an hour for parking

Well its a bit meh really.. if you want to avoid confrontation then you'd park somewhere else, if you want to make a statement then youd park there. Im not saying you're wrong but maybe inciting a row? Doing a bit of tit for tat? Lifes too short for all of that.

Why did you not park somewhere you paid for parking?

Stop being so tight & pay to park like everyone else.

Much easier all round.
