AIBU?

to ask how long you take getting ready in the morning?

This is excluding getting children ready. Just you, from shower to hair, makeup (if you wear it) etc - especially if you work. I feel that I take too long. Seems to be about an hour and a bit and I am always rushing. My routine is something like this:

Up, shower, brush teeth (10-15m)
Choose clothes and get dressed (15m ish)
Make a coffee, drink whilst doing makeup (20m)
Dry / style hair (20m)
Run about looking for things and trying to leave (10m)

Where am I going wrong?! Always late and don't want to get up earlier!

I take about an hour. I don't like feeling rushed and hassled so I'd opt to wake up a bit earlier to avoid morning madness.
If you picked your clothes the evening before and put whatever bits and pieces you needed in your bag you could save yourself a bit of time.

Sort clothes and other things the night before! That shaves loads of time off.

I get myself plus DS (3, single parent) ready in exactly an hour. But my routine is quite different from yours I think - no way I could wash my hair daily! And I only spend a couple of mins doing makeup (foundation and mascara, job done). I do fit in breakfast though.

Do everything you can the night before. Boring but effective. Everything else gets quicker with practice ime.

Choose your clothes the night before and it takes 2 minutes to get dressed. All in all it takes me about 30 mins to shower, do hair and get dressed.

I can be up, showered, teeth brushed, dressed and out of the door in 15 mins. 20 mins if I wash my hair.

I don't drink tea or coffee. My work is fairly relaxed so I wear jeans. I wear no make up. I do little with my hair except tie it back in some form or other. I don't eat breakfast until I am at my desk.

I also make the bed, visit the toilet and spend 5 mins with the dog.

I take 40 mins when it's just me.

I select & iron clothes, pack handbag, laptop bag & make lunch the night before. Saves me at least 20 mins of faffing time/changing of outfits.

If I haven't got to wash my hair, I can be ready in abt 20 minutes. Do as much as you can night before. My make up takes a few minutes. Foundation, bronzing powder, blusher, eyeliner, mascara and eyebrows. 20 minutes doing make up sounds a lot. What make up do you wear?

20 mins but I shower at night not in the morning.
That includes wash, teeth, sort shitty hair and do fairly minimal makeup.

I take about 90 minutes but that includes a lot of faffing about. Id rather get up earlier than be rushed in the morning. It takes me a long time to wake up properly.

Alarm goes off at 7:10, leave the house at 7:40,

don't full shower every single morning though, just a rinse over and usually hair wash on an evening which lasts me 2 days - 1 down, 1 tied up.
teeth, toilet etc.
foundation, powder and mascara for work.
outfit is 90% of the time chosen the night before.

feed cats, leave. Eat breakfast at work.

I shower every other day.

On shower day it's up, cuppa and shower. Then I let hair dry whilst I see to kids and make breakfast etc. Last thing I do is get myself dressed and brush teeth. So I can have a shower at 7am but not be out the door until 10am.

On non shower days it's a flannel wash, bit and pits and yes flannel goes immediately in wash then I get dressed. Can do it less than 5 minutes.

I can be out the door in 20 minutes if necessary (& no kids involved!) But admittedly I'm pretty low maintenance!

Routine at the moment is:
Hit snooze button at least twice...
6:50am 10 mins yoga while water heating (this is a recent development, as I am unfit and overweight and am doing something about it now)
7am shower, teeth, getting dressed.
7:15: done Grin

Admittedly, I don't wear makeup much - if I think I'm going to want to wear it I put it on at work. I also don't wash my hair in the morning (would take an hour or more to get it into shape if I did), and I don't have anything more than a cup of tea at breakfast time.

Clothes are prepared the night before & bag is checked so I don't have to run around getting ready.

If it wasn't for the children I'd be up and out half an hour earlier than I am now.

Today I got out of work at 7.50 and was sat at my desk 7 miles away by 8.30.

Choose clothes and get dressed (15m ish) I'm sure you could cut that down to under 5 mins.

Run about looking for things and trying to leave (10m) What things are you looking for? Keep everything you need in your handbag and just grap and go.

Alarm goes at 7, I'm out by 7.30, showered, hair washed every other day, breakfast eaten

I get up around 6.30 and leave the house 7.45/8.00 and in that time I sort kids out as well, so without having to do breakfast for children and get their clothes out I could be as quick as 30/45 mins.

I shower, do make up, do my hair, get dressed, boil an egg and make coffee, sit for a while and eat and drink, have a poo, brush teeth and leave.

Ok.. Yeah, my makeup is taking too long. I wear quite a lot without being clown-like (hopefully).

I get clothes out the night before and then think, oh, I look crap in that... Or, it's colder than I expected.

A lot of you are v speedy!

No kids involved, and I can be anything from 35mins to an hour and a half.

A 35-minuter is shower (without hairwash), throw baby oil over self as a moisturiser, brush teeth, tone and moisturise face, dressed (usually jeans and a top, and converse or flip-flops - minimal buttons and faff), make up (foundation, concealer, powder, eyebrows, kohl pencil, blusher, mascara), brush hair, make the bed (well, straighten duvet and pillows) grab keys, phone, bag, breakfast (cereal bar) and lunch (usually made by DP the night before Grin) and go.

An hour and a halfer is shower, shave legs and pits, wash hair, brush teeth, tone and moisturise face, body lotion on, make up (same as above) get dressed, dry and straighten hair (I have twatty hair), make the bed, grab keys, phone, bag and lunch.

There are a multitude of options in between those two timeframes, including washing hair and rough-drying it then tying it back, which saves about half an hour.

I always decide what I'm wearing the night before and make sure it's clean and ironed, so that saves me time in the morning.

Up at 5.30.
Tea, feed cat, do her litter tray
In shower by about 5.45.
Shower, wash hair, dry hair, dress, make up (not much) etc has to be over by about 6.20. I don't knock myself out doing this, it's fairly leisurely (as in I might check AIBU in between hair and make up).
Pack bag, put shoes on etc, teeth.
I'm normally pretty much done by 6.30 and some days I have to leave at that time, other days it's slightly longer (about another 15 mins as I get a lift to the station). I might just add that I also make the bed, put rubbish out and even sometimes put a wash on. So in general, an hour from up until out. I could do it in 45 min, but would find it stressy, I like to take my time.

I get up about 2 hours before I leave the house but only about 20 minutes of that is getting ready. I like to have a coffee, relax and not be too rushed in the morning.

30 minutes. Shower and brush teeth, tidy eyebrows if needed = 10 mins
Dry hair = 10 minutes
Style/straighten hair = 5 minutes
Makeup (tinted moisturiser, under eye lightener, blush) = 2/3 minutes
Get dressed = 2 minutes.

I can easily take way longer if I don't get my clothes ready the day before, or if I'm dolling myself up.

Between 20 mins and 45 minutes depending on whether its a hot washing day. On a non-hair-wash day.
5mins Shower
5mins Drying off and getting dressed.
5mins brushing teeth and putting on a bit of mascara.
The other 5 minutes are spent using the toilet, grabbing stuff my lunch from the fridge etc.

If I'm washing my hair then hair-drying takes time and my shower takes longer.

Up, showered, dressed, breakfast, teeth, lunch made, children chivvied, - 40 minutes. I usually allow an hour and that gives me time to do a couple of jobs as well before I leave.

Clothes are laid out the night before
Work bag is packed the night before

Children are teens/pre teens and therefore responsible for themselves beyond a general reminder that it's music/PE/tech etc.

DH needs about 4 hours. Does my head in.
