is anyone else a bit

MissBattleaxe Tue 28-Jul-15 14:36:56

On mumsnet you just can't please everyone so it doesn't bother me how people open the thread.

MaryBerrysEyelashes Tue 28-Jul-15 14:37:26

Do women really say that to each other, is my point?

MaryBerrysEyelashes Tue 28-Jul-15 14:37:44

shite punctuation there, sorry

Cocolepew Tue 28-Jul-15 14:38:36

I prefer what's up bitches.
But either would do.

screamingarmadillo Tue 28-Jul-15 14:38:43

I immediately think it's a man. Or a Forever Living distributor.

KinkyAfro Tue 28-Jul-15 14:39:44

Doesn't bother me at all - prefer to girls which is what we women at work are referred to.

And I am a lady grin

MaryBerrysEyelashes Tue 28-Jul-15 14:40:39

grin at Coke

MaryBerrysEyelashes Tue 28-Jul-15 14:40:58

Snort at FL, or Younique

KittensOnAPlane Tue 28-Jul-15 14:41:02

i'm ok

TheHouseOnBellSt Tue 28-Jul-15 14:41:07

I want to be addressed as a lady...that's what I am after all...

YANBU of course.

The5DayChicken Tue 28-Jul-15 14:41:09

I am most certainly not a lady, so being mistaken for one is a refreshing change smile

Itsmine Tue 28-Jul-15 14:45:46

Message withdrawn at poster's request.

Imlookingatboats Tue 28-Jul-15 14:47:25

Henceforth, I'm going to start mine:

'Yo' bitchez'

EponasWildDaughter Tue 28-Jul-15 14:48:19

I always think it's a male poster if it opens like that.

roundandroundthehouses Tue 28-Jul-15 14:49:39

It sounds false to me - like someone's received idea of how you're meant to address a group of mothers. Sometimes it's just because they're used to the lingo of a different forum. But it's used often enough by journalists, goady fuckers and people selling you something that it doesn't warm me to the person, put it that way grin.

WorraLiberty Tue 28-Jul-15 14:50:30

I just assume it's a typo.

Sparklingbrook Tue 28-Jul-15 14:55:32

Always cobblers IMO, and yes I always assume it's a male with an agenda or a big stirry spoon.

roundandroundthehouses Tue 28-Jul-15 14:55:55

I reckon it's the direct equivalent of the flyers you find in libraries. "Calling All Teens age 14-16!!! Wow your mates this summer with cool digital art skillz!!!"

ouryve Tue 28-Jul-15 14:59:55

I usually expect them to tell me about a forgotten inheritance from a long lost Nigerian uncle.

firesidechat Tue 28-Jul-15 15:02:09

I immediately think it's a man. Or a Forever Living distributor.

Me too I'm afraid, especially if there are other things in the posts which set off alarm bells.

Never thought it might be a Forever Living rep though. Will look out for that one. grin

ChippyMinton Tue 28-Jul-15 15:03:07

Also ones that start: So...

magicstar1 Tue 28-Jul-15 15:03:26

It always makes me think of Kevin and Perry trying to chat up girls

MrsBertMacklin Tue 28-Jul-15 15:04:11

I've learned to heed it as a warning sign of a troll, usually of the horny amateur male escort type.

shadowfax07 Tue 28-Jul-15 15:04:43

It really doesn't bother me at all. Although knowing that there are men on mn, it does seem wrong to exclude them.
