To get super irritated by the endless search for decent jeans in ' fashionable' high street shops

I'd like a pair of good quality, skinny/slim fit, dark wash jeans.

I don't want a super high waist that gives me camel toe, I don't want baggy crotch, I don't want a jegging that will stretch out of shape within three wears, I don't want 90s fit that gives you an elephant bum, I don't want ripped knees, embroidered flowers, diamanté bits or ankle grazers, I don't want to pay £60, I don't want stone wash or acid wash or yellow or burn out or aztec print, I don't want poor sizing or tiny pockets that make your bum look weird, I don't want 90% lycra, I don't want them to be called Alice or Luella or fucking Tabitha when it bears no relation to the fit of the jean, and most of all I'd like to know what my size is without having to try on three different sizes in each style because it's bloody exhausting.

The search continues....

Yes! YEs! YES!!!!

Real Jeans are made for a straight up straight down body type, not curves. As women we have very varied body structure. Hence our uniqueness grin and its very hard to find any type of trouser to fit, im convinced they just cannot be made!

Yes & more yes, why is it so soul destroying trying to find jeans? The fecking vanity sizing <I'm looking at you next> The Jamie in top shop are the best I have found, but quite expensive.

True Crusts, but it's really annoying when someone finally makes a style that fits like a dream, then when you need a new pair they've changed it completely!!!!

Im what is called an apple i think and have a bit of a tummy but very slim legs and arms. I havent a hope in hell grin I also dont like anything tight so its posh leggins for me and a tunic all the way.

Dontcall, I have a beloved pair of Topshop Baxters from a few years back when they were flattering and a fairly decent quality. Went in today and every pair looked like a pile of shite. Most disheartening.

I have a pair of straight leg Lee Cooper jeans that were about £70 reduced to £15 in a dark denim. They're flattering and the first properly good quality jeans I've had for years.

The only negative was that I bought them from Sports Direct.

I know what you said about jeggings but next do dark denim ones at about £24 a pair which are awesome- quite thick material so more like skinny jeans really, super flattering. I have 2 pairs that I wear constantly. They don't go baggy after kneeling down with kids all day and they are really comfy. Hands down best jeans I have ever had.

Dorothy Perkins Eden jeggings are fabulous. They hold their shape perfectly and don't go at all baggy at the knee, come up just high enough and have belt hoops so that you can tuck things in too.

IMO Diesel and Calvin Klein do the best jeans. Very flattering and really good quality. I've bought both for under £60 at designer outlets.

I used to love my Topshop Baxter jeans. That was pre-DC mind.

I love my gap jeans so much I hVe 4 pairs all the same style! They are skinny but not too skintight, have real pockets and mid rise. They are the best!

Scholes34 Sat 25-Jul-15 00:51:58

Snap Captain - bought just one pair sounding similar to yours in the Gap sale. I'd decided before that to treat myself to a pair of Levi's, after buying cheap jeans, and was very disappointed with the quality of the denim.

I've got the same GAP ones as Captain and Scholes.

Best jeans I've had in ages.

Jane Norman jeans are the one for me. You can still get them online (I'm not sure if they still trade in debenhams) but they're some of the best I've had. Keep their shape and wash well. Although I'm currently made up as I was rooting through the loft and found a topshop pair I bought at 17 and they fit!!! I've worn them three times this week hahas!

Topshop Jamie and Jack Wills. Jack Wills jeans are ace.

Can the jeggings wearers tell me - I bought a pair of jeggings recently. They're comfy to wear but work down several times a day, I keep having to do the hoick and wiggle. Too small?

Welshmaenad Sat 25-Jul-15 05:48:37

Asda Wonderfit jeans. I live in mine and they haven't gone baggy or shapeless. I absolutely love them.

Sainsburys jeans are brilliant, especially the jeggings and the Gok range.

Oasis jeans (Cherry, so still have a silly name, unfortunately) are fantastic. I prefer them to my Calvins.

NoArmaniNoPunani Sat 25-Jul-15 06:55:11

Paige jeans are the best.

Uniqlo Superskinny. Amazing, inexpensive and never lose their shape. You may have to shorten them unless you're 5'10".

galletti2014 Sat 25-Jul-15 07:05:31

I always buy mine from Zara - never disappointed.
