Today, I totally nailed my Aldi shop.

4 bags opened in advance. Strategic belt loading - heavy items first, fridge stuff together, bread and squashables at the back. Credit card payment to buy more time.

I absolutely nailed it.

Yanbu

I love Aldi, but hate having to load and unload the food into the trolley, onto the belt, back into the trolley, into the bags, into the car, out of the car then into the fecking cupboards. So a round of applause from me Wink

I first read that as "today, I totally nailed my Aldi soup" then I read on and thought, eh? Bags of soup and she carried them on her belt. I had images of you doing a fantastic soup balancing act Grin I then went back to the beginning and re-read the post correctly....what can I say, I'm tired Confused

On another note, go you!

We are going on holiday on Saturday morning and I am determined we'll leave an empty fridge with no wastage. It's my mission

Wooo well done you!! I was chuffed the other day when I did the same but it was a small/ £40ish shop so not quite the same achievement! I find loose veg buys you a couple of seconds whilst they type the code in so tend to put loose stuff in the middle haha.

Funny thing is, it feels like I am starting to find myself getting impatient with the checkout operators in other stores now!

dodo Co-op are the worst for dawdling... don't they know I'm on a mish?

trujay I actually did get soup - their carrot and coriander is lush
Glad I'm not the only one who thinks this more exciting than getting into uni. DH thought I was really sad for texting him immediately from aldi car park to gloat

Debit has always been fine at my local one but I'm trying to remember how long ago it was I forgot my debit card and tried with credit card. Can't have been more than a year ago. I'll have to ask again when I'm next in.

Yep, I think they started accepting credit cards at least 6 months ago.

Yesterday when I went to Aldi, I didn't nail it at all - the checkout lady started scanning my stuff before the previous shopper had left, I wasn't even in position with my trolley! It was a losing battle from then on...

Good work!

I take a giant IKEA bag and throw everything at it. Paying by debit card gets you an extra few seconds to pop the breakable items in more gently.

Them trolley bag thingies would be great for an aldi shop. Must invest in a set soon.
