To think it is hilarious that my dog has eaten the boss's lunch

Firstly, my boss is an utter arse of a man. He is like a cross between Del Boy and Bernard Manning, except he is thin.

Secondly, anyone daft enough to leave a sausage and bacon baguette on their desk for the best part of an hour with a labrador around deserves all they get imo. grin

Boss hasn't returned to find his lunch gone yet

TinyManticore Sat 18-Jul-15 13:11:18

Oh dear. Won't he be a bit furious? I assume it'll be obvious where it's gone?

kelda Sat 18-Jul-15 13:12:24

Why is your dog at work? Did you not see the sandwich?

WorraLiberty Sat 18-Jul-15 13:12:40

Oh dear, do keep us updated! grin

Mind you, it wouldn't occur to me not to leave a sandwich on a desk with my dog around cos I know he just wouldn't eat it.

He would however be found drowning in a puddle of his own drool.

Maryhadalittlespam Sat 18-Jul-15 13:12:44

Sit there looking confused / puzzled as well

ImperialBlether Sat 18-Jul-15 13:12:56

I think you're being unreasonable.

Why is your dog at work with you?

Surely someone should be able to leave something personal on their desk without it being taken by someone else?

If a female boss left her make up bag, would you think it funny if your DD destroyed everything in it?

NoMontagues Sat 18-Jul-15 13:13:38

Oh god. Not the one with the house. Er, I think I'd be popping to the shops right about now grin

PtolemysNeedle Sat 18-Jul-15 13:14:41

You don't sound very nice either.

And what was wrong with Del Boy?

Xmasbaby11 Sat 18-Jul-15 13:14:44

Seriously? If the dog's yours, I'd expect you to control it, ie stop it eating other people's food.

Yanbu - it is hilarious - but also pretty poor of you.

I liked Del Boy, bit rough round the edges but a good sort.

Did you see the dog eyeing up the food and ignore it?

Backforthis Sat 18-Jul-15 13:17:49

Is it bad that I only clicked to check the lunch was dog safe?

LaChatte Sat 18-Jul-15 13:20:10

Maybe it's a guide dog?

kelda Sat 18-Jul-15 13:20:52

TBH your boss can't be that bad if he lets you take your dog to work.

kelda Sat 18-Jul-15 13:21:31

Unless it is a working dog of course. In which case YANBU.

AlbrechtDurer Sat 18-Jul-15 13:21:31

Is this the scratch card arsehole? If so, he deserves so much worse than having his lunch eaten. Well done that dog!

NoMontagues Sat 18-Jul-15 13:23:14

Oh yes. The scratchcard thing was unforgivable. Disregard what I said about the shop.

BigStripeyBastard Sat 18-Jul-15 13:24:13

No, YABU.

CatthiefKeith Sat 18-Jul-15 13:24:41

She always comes to work. I am very lucky in that the owner of the business loves animals, especially dogs, and when I was deciding whether or not I should take my dog on he was insistant that she should come to work with me rather than stay home alone.

Had wanker boss told me that he had left his lunch on his desk I would have made sure the dog didn't go near it. It is an open plan office. The first I knew of its existence was when I followed the trail of tin foil back to my desk after dealing with a complaint from one of his customers.

Ordinarily I would be at my desk, but since I was outside placating the customer he has spent the morning avoiding I didn't see the dog snaffle it until it was at least 3/4's eaten.

TinyManticore Sat 18-Jul-15 13:25:02

Oh,it's the scratchcard wanker! I don't feel sorry for him getting no lunch then.

StillStayingClassySanDiego Sat 18-Jul-15 13:27:47

Tough tits on wanker boss .

BoyFromTheBigBadCity Sat 18-Jul-15 13:29:02

Don't know the back story, but probably your boss allows animals on the proviso of good behaviour. Are out going to replace the lunch or are they to go without?

Gruntfuttock Sat 18-Jul-15 13:29:34

I think you should replace the lunch, OP. I have no idea what the scratchcard comments are about btw.

Go out and buy him another sandwich. Apologise profusely. If you do anything else you're completely in the wrong.
