AIBU?

To think he should get up and help

It's 3am, it's my birthday and I have been awake for 22 hours courtesy of a ridiculously early rising 13 month old DS2.

3 year old DS1 woke up as I was going to bed at ten and proceeded to have the mother of all tantrums because he'd lost his stuffed monkey under his covers. He finally calmed down and fell asleep at half twelve, at which point DS2 started screaming and after a BF was wide awake and full of beans. At this time he is still showing no signs of sleep. DH has refused to get up through all of this because he is too tired, poor lamb, despite not having gotten up this morning until after eight (he has a week off work), three hours later than I did.

AIBU to think that he really should have the decency to get up and let me sleep, even if only for an hour or so?

I should add that we'd promised DS1 a trip to the beach, an hour and a half away, today and there is no way I could manage it on no sleep, so expecting a very grumpy little boy in the morning. Happy birthday to me!

Wake up your husband, hand him the baby, tell him it is his turn and go to sleep - in the spare room or sofa if necessary.

How can he refuse (like how does that work - can you actually refuse to deal with a crying baby -wish I had known). Put the baby in bed beside him and head off.

oh and happy birthday. give yourself the present of not putting up with any old shit. I know it would be lovely if your dh actually had the decency ... but he doesn't. so have the decency to treat yourself right.

Yep, it's definitely his turn. He can call it an early birthday pressie
alternatively looking after his sodding kid
Who is meant to be driving and what time? If not you, can you sleep in the car?
