AIBU?

WIBU to email asking for update after interview?

I applied for a few jobs recently and had two interviews last week - they both said I would hear back by Friday, Monday at the latest.

I heard back from one yesterday (unsuccessful), but I'm still waiting to hear back from the other. It's the job I really wanted, it's full time, good wage, good hours, really interesting, and the interview seemed to go really well. It's internal so they'll email my work account, but I haven't been at work all week (first day in is tomorrow), so DP has been sneakily checking my work email for me.

I'm really getting worked up now, I just want to know! They said I'd hear back by Monday at the latest, but I haven't heard anything from them. WIBU to email the recruitment department from my home email asking for an update? Or is that too pushy? Would it go against me if they haven't decided yet? Bearing in mind it's a massive company so the people in recruitment are very separate from the department and people who interviewed me.

No harm. Perhaps you should have mentioned you would be away from work e-mails this week.

If you're successful, I'd also ask for feedback from the interview when you start the new job. It's an excellent way to find out what your new manager thinks about you and expects from you in the new role.

Fingers crossed.

I don't think there is any harm is asking.
Can you wait until tomorrow though and do it from your work email and just say you are back and hadn't heard anything so were just chasing up on a response and feedback?

It's automated, so because I already work in a different building they just use my work email address- usually anyone with an email address at the company is a full-timer, but I've got one just because I occasionally do managerial shifts - otherwise I only work a few days a week (unfortunately)

That's a good idea to email them while I'm in work tomorrow though. I'm just so nervous about it all that I just want to find out straight away.
