I'm 40 but feeling like an old spinster.
Been with my husband skce I was 15, so 25 years, married 15 of them.
He's suffers from depression on and off for around 10-15 years and I've always supported him but this last 3 years has been enough. I've suspected he's cheated in way of an EA which he confirmed and I've forgave him this was 7 years ago. Things have been ok but the last year or so has been so hard. He's has been so cold towards me, no loving features, no intimacy and certainly no sex. I've tried but get rejected. I've explained how I feel but he's not in the mood. We get on and do things with the kids Have fun etc but he's like my friend, one who can be moody...
I'm desperate for a hug and a good old fashioned snog.
Not wanting any criticism just wanted to "say" this out loud.
I'm not going to have an affair or anything like but if I was offered any human intimate contact id jump at it....

I hope you can sort something out. You don't want to spend the rest of your life like this.

Having met your husband and been with him since the age of 15 means you haven't really found any independence to know anything else.

You are right to want more affection in your life. You are right to say No, this is not the life I want.

Never too late to take that step. That step out on your own independent life.

I turned 60 this year. I might be a LP but no way am I "an old spinster"!!

Talk to him about it again, if things continue as they are then weigh up how happy you are in this relationship. 40 is still very young, plenty of time for finding someone else & making a new start. If you have another 40 years ahead of you then that's a long time to be celibate.

Just a thought, has he actually finished that EA affair as it sounds as though he's detached himself emotionally from you...
