Son't worry - Timmy will save them.

KittyandTeal Sun 12-Jul-15 19:09:53

Absolutely nothing. Just be sure to pack them a scrumptious picnic to take with them.

YANBU. Better drowned than duffers!

Are they duffers?

SanityClause Sun 12-Jul-15 19:11:52

I don't know.

But AIBU to let my DC go and play in a gravel pit every morning? Also, sometimes they like to go into Rochester for the day, on their own. I've left the servants in charge of them, and they do tell them off if they're late back, or a bit grubby, so that's all right, isn't it?

Better buy some pemmican.

Tell DH to stop being a smart arse...

ElkTheory Sun 12-Jul-15 19:12:51

If not duffers won't drown.

SingingSamosa Sun 12-Jul-15 19:13:58

Sanity - as long as you tell them that talking to strangers will only end in misadventure!

SanityClause Sun 12-Jul-15 19:14:47

Oh, and if I do let them go out, is it okay if they take The Baby (well, toddler, really) with them. I mean, everyone wants him, so what could go wrong?

yellowcurtains Sun 12-Jul-15 19:14:51

Just don't let them take baby Bridget!
If not duffers, will not drown.

TeenAndTween Sun 12-Jul-15 19:15:30

They'll have a blast.

When they're older, teach them the difference between men in squashy hats and armadillos.

Sanity I wouldn't, you don't know what it might lead to.

That's a really nice carpet you've just bought for the playroom, btw.

yellowcurtains Sun 12-Jul-15 19:16:20

Argh- x-posted with everyone.

Don't worry- strange men on houseboats are probably fine (especially after a dip in the lake....)

FadedRed Sun 12-Jul-15 19:17:30

Just make sure that only the girls do the washing up and there are lashings of hard boiled eggs and lemonade.

yellowcurtains Sun 12-Jul-15 19:17:45

Oh teen/tween- I think Pigeon Post may be my absolute favourite.

HarrietVane99 Sun 12-Jul-15 19:17:53

Sanity, just tell them to be careful what they wish for, and they'll be fine.

yellowcurtains Sun 12-Jul-15 19:18:16

Faded- for shame. These children drink tea! Made by the girls though.

Lancelottie Sun 12-Jul-15 19:18:21

I'm sure they'll be fine, just as soon as they learn to swim with both feet off the bottom.

Lancelottie Sun 12-Jul-15 19:19:44

Yellow, 'made by the second-borns' seems to be more the case -- catch Capn Nancy ever putting the kettle on!

Trickydecision Sun 12-Jul-15 19:19:48

No Yellow, got to be Winter Holiday.
