I know I'm not really, just a not so stealth boast.

I've escaped for a whole night. I'm currently in a hotel, alone, wine in cooler, room service on tap. There is even a spa but am proberly too lazy to bother

I am in heaven.wine

Beyond jealous! Enjoy it. Dh always suggests this for me but cash is tight currently. When it's better i am going to take him up on it.

Have a lovely time- you appreciate it all the more when you don't get it very often.

We did this last weekend for our anniversary. 23 blissful hours away. Our first time in 5 years. Enjoy!!

LemonYellowSun Sat 11-Jul-15 17:19:06

Sounds lovely. Enjoy flowers

There are not enough emoticons to show how jealous I am. Currently listening to two kids killing each other over the hell that is minecraft. Sigh.

DorothyBastard Sat 11-Jul-15 17:20:26

So jealous. 2.4yo DD is suddenly deep into the terrible twos and acting thoroughly horrible. I'm also 32 weeks pregnant and have SPD.

Have asked my lovely DM if she'll take her for a few hours tomorrow so I have a chance to rest and to miss her. I cannot wait. Plus I know the little wotsit will be perfectly behaved for her Nan, it's just me she reserves her grimmest behaviour for.

YADDDDNBU! Have fun! I'm so envy!

BettyCatKitten Sat 11-Jul-15 17:27:30

Sounds like bliss, enjoy smile

Me too! DH and I having a last 'romantic' hotel night before DS2 comes along next month. He's currently snoring away next to me and I'm drinking tea. Going out for tapas later, and I might even have half a cold beer. It's great huh?

MissCalamity Sat 11-Jul-15 18:22:06

I think it makes you a better parent, and everyone needs a break now & again!

I've had one night off since DC2 arrived almost 15 months ago, I'm off on a hen do for two nights at the end of the month & can't bloody wait to get hopefully two unbroken nights of sleep so not bothered about the cultural aspect of the European destination!

Notgoodwithwords Sat 11-Jul-15 18:28:11

Oh my goodness... What I wouldn't give to swap places right now.. Dc's have been bickering all day.
Had to brave town today with a whinging toddler & a teenager that despite me having to pay to fix her phone screen for the 2nd time wanted every item of clothing there was in her size!! confused Back home they are still fighting & still moaning!!

HeyMicky Sat 11-Jul-15 18:36:39

Nope. Very healthy IMO.

DD1 is 2.10 but DD2 is just 10 weeks; we have a wedding end of August and I cannot wait for an night away from the kids

slightlyconfused85 Sat 11-Jul-15 18:39:20

Yanbu. I am 39 weeks pregnant and DH took 2.8 yo dd out for most of the day today. I've shamelessly had a nap, sat in the sun and read the paper. It's been bliss! smile

patchesofhappiness Sat 11-Jul-15 18:41:23

Good for you, enjoy it smile

Until recently, I had not had a single hour away from my children in six whole years!! (Complicated situation involving a child with special needs plus an extremely unsupportive husband) Then ds 2 became entitled to a free nursery place at the local school, and I suddenly had 2 hours a day to get things done with no children there. The first day I cleaned the whole house from top to bottom in a complete frenzy. The second day I cooked enough food to fill the freezer to bursting point... and on the third day I lay down on the sofa, set an alarm and closed my eyes for two whole hours - it was bliss!!!

Having a bit of time away from my beautiful children makes me remember that I used to have an identity which was not completely tied up in motherhood. I can get stuff done, have a bit of thinking time, talk to friends, and then feel so much more able to play enthusiastically when the kids come home.

answersonapostcardplease Sat 11-Jul-15 18:45:23

Thanks everyone, wish Dh was here really but no childcare.

luckiestgirl enjoy before baby arrives.

I am just waiting for my 3 courses of room service and drinking winewine

I've had a lovely nap. Dh had text to say its all fun at home, he has the paddling pool out!

I was lucky enough to have a couple of nights with dh ladt year but pil are too crazy old to babysit now. So for now its a solo trip.

avocadotoast Sat 11-Jul-15 18:46:27

My friend just text me to invite me to a gig tonight (that I'd seen advertised and did really want to go to) but I am breastfeeding an unpredictably grizzly 7 week old. I love her but I am incredibly jealous of you right now OP!

jollyjester Sat 11-Jul-15 18:50:21

Im so jealous!

Once DD goes to bed ive wine, popcorn and twilight to watch.

I also must remove the batteries from the bloody fisher price teapot that DD has insisted on listening to all day. 'Time to share a pot of tea' nope if you were a real teapot I'd have smashed you by accident.

OP do you have mini toiletries and white clean sheets/towels/bathrobe?

I miss things that aren't covered in toddler stickiness. Its not dirt, just a sticky residue they seem to have

answersonapostcardplease Sat 11-Jul-15 18:57:59

jolly i have white bedding and towels, such a treat, my grubby 2 year old is usually covered in sand and gubbins!
