To think game of thrones is really hard to follow?

I'm currently at beginning of season 4 and finding it hard to follow what's going on due to a number of things.

Spoilers below if people not watched up to season 4

• I have no idea what little finger (Lord Baelish ) is talking about . He gives little speeches but they do not make any sense. you never know what side he is on other than being creepy and slimy towards Sansa.
  
  *i can't understand why Jon snow left the night watch and joined the wildlings and then left , was it a trick all along ?
  Things don't seem to be explained that well.
  
  *a lot of people cast look very similar and as the scenes are very low light and dark it's very hard to see who it is And what's going on.
  
  
• a lot of the names and locations I can never remember who lives where and some of the character names sound very similar so that's confuses things.
  
  Does anyone else find it hard to follow ?

I don't find it hard to follow, but then I did binge watch the first 5 seasons when I was pregnant last year. Littlefinger is slimy and untrustworthy.

1. Littlefinger is a devious character and keeps his cards close to his chest, it is unclear what his motives are other than to gain power.
   

1. In season 2 or 3, when Jon Snow got captured by the wildlings, another brother of his from the Nights Watch (also captured by willings) told Jon to kill him to gain the wildlings trust. This brother Qoirin Halfhand was a long standing trusted brother so to kill him was a big deal. This meant the wildlings believed he had defected from the Watch. He had to find out their tactics to take back to the wall. He was never part of the wildlings, just playing a part.
   

But yes, the game of thrones wiki is a good idea. Just be careful of spoilers on there if you're only on season 4.

Yes find it hard to follow too, but we totally binge watched all seasons so that helped!. Every week we'd get through a season
Find the names very similar too. And can never remember who lives where or who rules where. Still I persevere, some good looking men to drool over.

Theon didn't do nothing to make Ramsey torture him. Ramsey is a sick individual who enjoys torturing people. Ramsey probably gets particular joy from torturing Theon because he has some issues about his station in life as he was born a 'bastard' whereas Theon is a Lord. Also Ramsey was an underling for Theon and now the tables are turned.

They mention Brienne being from the Sapphire isle and her father being some lord, but Qarth had the thirteen didn't they?

Tarth and Qarth are different places. Tarth is an island (I think) off the Westeros Coast down south. Qarth is a city in Essos, the continent over the sea where Daenerys does here wandering about.

I binge watched most of the seasons too and so I did have an idea of what was going on. What I loved was the first episode of series one you had Kings Landing and Winterfell. By the last series there were masses of Kingdoms and all hell had broken loose

I found it v confusing to begin with so I printed a family tree type thing off the internet which helped place who was who (yes I am THAT geeky!)

About half way through the first series it all fell in to place and I was hooked.

And I know that I shouldn't admit this is polite society but I kind of like Lord Baelish....I'm at a loss as to understand why, I think it might be is lovely accent.

I don't know that Theon wouldn't have killed Bran and Rickon, as he didn't actually get a choice. They escaped before he could do anything. He killed (or ordered the killing) of the 2 farm boys and the burning to hide that fact that there is still 2 male heirs alive.

At the minute most of the world believe that Sansa is the only living Stark.
