My twins aged 11 want to have a sleepover to celebrate the end of primary school and they want to invite 11 people.i would think 3-4 maybe 5 would be more than enough to have lots and fun as i don't think I could handle so many children in the house as the twins still have 4 sibling so if they got there way there would 17 children in the house and garden am I being unreasonable?

You already have 6, plus 4 friends makes 10. Yikes!

Just yikes as in that's a lot of excitable children in the house :-)

Nope not in the slightest. I can't even begin to think about sleepovers, they certainly won't be a regular occurrence in our house with the 5 kids plus guests.

I'm an only child and always had a maximum of 5 friends in the early sleepover days. That rapidly declined to 3 or 4 maximum including me.

As long as you don't expect anyone to actually sleep, I'd let them get on with it and invite who they want.

11 for a party, fine. 4 max for a sleepover!

I have done 8, but 3 were for DD2 and her little gang did their own thing most of the time, and 5 were with DD1. So 10 children in the house. I couldn't have coped with more!
DD1 was 12 at the time, and they only headed to bed at 3am, and some of the girls didn't sleep til 8am!
IME, Group dynamics can get dodgy with more than 6.

Tell them if they invite 11 you'll all have to go live in a shoe. Although I'm sure you're not old!

Total numbers partly depends on the age of the siblings in my view. If the siblings are largely older / more independent then you can probably cope with 1 or 2 more than if they are younger.

In general I reach for the Taser / gin once the number of children in the house gets to 10.

We had 10 for DD's last birthday - filled a spare room with blow up mattresses and sleeping bags, they had a great time, out all day, back for tea and movie, bed at 9, card playing and chatting until they all eventually dozed off at 10.30-11.00. I was amazed at how lovely they all were. DD said it was best birthday ever.

Can't see your 11 year old on the other thread listing your 'childrens' names, ages and fictional activities.

I'm also as confused as you seem to be about your children's ages Confused You've started so many threads about your family of 6 kids (& their varying ages) that other people have been willing to share their experiences on, that the least you could do is be honest.
