I would argue social housing should be for nmw recipients or vulnerable adults. Too right people on good wages should pay market rent for social housing.

As for the rest of the budget from what I've seen its fairly good unless you're a public sector worker in which case you're fucked.

It won't hit £9 until 2020, and if I read it right, childless people won't be eligible for WTC from April 2016...so not that great, no.

Did i understand that rent is social housing will go down because HAs can make efficiency savings(so rent control) unless you earn over £30k then your rent will go up to market rates because tax payers are subsidising you. Caught in a logic loop here.

My dh works in public sector and we will not be fucked at all by this budget. We are not entitled to any benefits anyway though. not everyone who works in the public sector is at the mercy of government cuts.

I get paid £8.50/hr now, DP on £12/hr granted, but between us neither of us claims any tax credits, yet have a mortgage bills etc.
I managed on my own before DP, sure I would again if we were to end our relationship, people relying on tax credit s is why the country is skint - at least with an increase in NMW and an increase in the tax threshold people should'nt need ot have the tax credits.
