It's my birthday. I would have liked something nice. I went to the cinema with a friend on Saturday and we went to see the Minions film because nothing else grabbed us. DH came home today with my present. "Oh, you like the Minions, so I bought you bananas." He didn't even gift wrap them.

FFS.

Sad

Are you sure there was nothing with them? Or to follow?

Happy birthday Flowers

My brain is boggling at your husband.

Get him an orange for his but make sure you wrap it up.

It's nice to be kind in return.

My dad bought my mum a cabbage once!
Look on the bright side at least it's something useful. And buy him onions for his birthday!

YANBU. That would've been a good joke gift but should have been followed up with a real one. If you get him nice gifts for his birthday but he doesn't return the favour that's not fair and you should explain to him that the lack of thought hurts your feelings.

Seriously? What on earth did you say? I hope you asked him if it was a fucking joke.

Don't understand why liking minions means you want bananas.

Don't understand why he bought you fruit.

And didn't even wrap it.

Wtaf.????

Happy Birthday xx

It's a thing from the film paulapompom.

Surely he's double bluffing you and there's an amazing present coming?!

Really?
Is he joking?

I don't think there's anything else. He's always been crap at presents, his excuse is that he was sent to boarding school when he was 8 and his parents used to drive over for his birthday, show him his presents, then drive back home with them again.

The first present he got me was a pair of red wellies. Size 13. Children's size 13.

AIBU to either LTB or buy him an anal probe for Christmas?

What kind of things do you and your DH normally buy each other for your birthday?
Tbh, you got more than I ever get and I don't mind at all, so I suppose it's all so subjective that it's difficult to know what to say. Some people expect and get amazing surprises/expensive gifts and if that's what you're used to, I can see why bananas might be a bit of a letdown. If you usually get more, are you sure your DH isn't teasing you a bit and has in fact got you something else?

Happy Birthday Flowers

Would he use a pinterest board for ideas if you kept one for the purpose? If you told him how important it was to you?
