I had a summer job on a production line in a factory once. The work was relentless and boring. My mind used to wander whiley fingers did their work. I used to plan tunnelling out of there. I even considered using gym equipment like a horse to cover the hole. I would have called my tunnel Elvis.

ISIS is probably not too much of a bother, but I always check the nearest fire exists when I go to the cinema, theatre, hotels etc. So in that respect YANBU.

I think about it too, and work in a huge public attraction. I think it's ok to think about it, so long as it's kept in check and doesn't become an anxiety issue.

Last night I planned how I would get home from central London if a terror threat meant all public transport was locked down.

I've planned what I would do if a gunman entered our building

If there was a gun attack on the school

If a got news of an outbreak of a nasty disease

If there was another petrol strike/water shortage/electricity blackout what we could do.

I also appear normal on the outside honest!

I do this every time I walk (fast) through London Bridge. I look for hiding places and exits. I too think public transports more of a risk than your office (unless its in the shard or other tall building I suppose .....)

I have an anxiety disorder which means wherever I am I have not one but several escape plans for all sorts of scenarios! I have just expressed my concern about DH going to a shopping centre in a large city though... I'm all for going about one's day as per usual but this isn't part of his normal day, he's in an unfamiliar city... & I've been known to literally jump at the sight of my own shadow... Therefore he should just hide somewhere quiet until he can come home.

Lol I have always planned escape routes. Need to think of every eventuality and know where the nearest high ground, open land, enclosed and hidden room, sturdy building is. As well as routes home and to the children's school etc.

I'm fairly stress free but I did think about it this morning whilst coming through the station with DS (aged 3) this morning. I wondered if the lines are live (Metro) and whether jumping down and running into the tunnel with him would be the best bet... crazy really

I used to do this but now working for the emergency services I know that I'll be one of those going towards the event rather than running away and that scares me witless. I'll just be working out how to stop my hands shaking enough to be able to cannulate and how to use the blast dressings that I've only ever used in training.

We have been given a little card with what to do in the event of a gun attack, one of the priceless bits of advice is 'do not hide behind a bush as these do not stop bullets' No shit Sherlock,
