DH did mention today that ITV are hiring the three of them for a new show to be aired Sunday's @ 8! I hope this is true and not a rumour. No one else can do top gear like they did sorry Chris Evans

I loved tonight's show, and like many of the episodes it made me actually cry with laughter. I will miss the programme, and I am sad that it won't be the same with anyone else.
BUT there was no other outcome. No employer can allow an employee to (allegedly) behave abusively to a colleague or subordinate, no matter what personal issues may be going on, and after prior warnings. If the BBC had allowed JC to carry on, they might as well have told him
That next time he was having a really crap day, it would be ok for him to hit someone. Or run them over.
So although we're sad, and I bet May & Hammond are VERY sad, I don't think there was another option.

Chris Evans will be ok and I'm sure he'll have some quality co presenters, but it will take some doing to get anything like the camaraderie that Clarkson, May and Hammond built up.

I felt sad too.

I don't watch a lot of TV but it's one show I've seen right from childhood. I remember hearing my dad laughing at TG downstairs. It makes me feel happy.

It's also got my DS massively into cars and he has plans for his own car company along with model names and his own ideas for how you build cars (he's 7).

Nblue bannanas the title of the thread is JC and co last top gear, as in its their last show, people say it's year 11 last day, the whole school isn't closing just people leaving or is that dramatic too.

But also to many many many people 85% of the top gear audience these presenters as you call them are the show, yes Chris evens is going to present a show called top gear, just as tiff needle and Angela rippion did before clarkson may and Hammond, but it won't be this one. I just a programme with the same name.


The show was more than a car show, in fact it wasn't really a car show. It became about them and their little misadventures.

Yes we all know the bbc had now choice and I think in many ways Jeremy almost wanted it, I know it was editing but how many times was he shown going I'm 54 I'm to old for this I hate working on top gear. Not condoning in anyway what is accused of doing.

Lots of people watch it who have no interest in cars but enjoy watching three blokes who have a strong relationship messing about in an entertaining way. It needn't have been cars it could have been anything they were doing.
So yes, top gear will continue and the car enthusiasts will still watch but the extra viewers who watched it for entertainment probably won't.
It is sad that thy couldn't go out in a high.
